Tonight’s team
COYR
-
Well, apart from the apparently dodgy keeper (lol) the starting eleven looks decent enough.
Not much back up though for Richie to fall back on if needed.
-
Let's hope we don't need number 7
-
Really need a striker
-
I won't mention the keeper :chair:
I'd have quite like to have seen Rowe (at least as a one off) pushed further forward and either Horton/John brought in at left back. Given Rowe's finishing ability and how scoring goals looks like it maybe a problem for us.
Otherwise the manager has little choice looking at the bench at least in terms of the outfield players :chair:
-
With fitness returning to a young body let's hope Cukur can last out 90 minutes and get in there quickly enough to score, I reckon he just needs to be a bit more greedy, finishing the work of others rather than chasing around the pitch too much. Be a Marquis!!! Shout at folks when they don't give it to you at 18 yards out.
-
Yet again the bench is not good enough some players there because we don’t have better.
-
Smith, Seaman, Fejiri Hiwula, Taylor? Would they be a decent bench for you?
-
Hoping for a better performance than last season, it was this match last season that put the last nail in the coffin of the promotion push, it was the manner though, as it was one of the worst performances for some time.
-
Good start
-
Damm it
-
Great start!
-
What a calamity! … dear me.
-
That was so bad from Pontus
-
Now I can’t argue about that bit of keeping
-
We really didn’t need that
-

Maybe you were right! That was awful
-
Agree. That was an epic clanger. Oh well, onwards.
-
We really do make things difficult for ourselves.
-
f**king hell!
-
They're all over us.
-
Keeper was obviously stood too far to the left after learning from Saturday.
-
Keeper drops it in his own net? Not good.
-
Someone's put a spell on him!
-
Cant even get out of our own half.
-
It could be 3-0
-
ACCRINGTON'S man city goalkeeper let a simple shot go thru his legs on saturday. WHEN THEY WON 2-1
-
It wouldn't be such a disaster going 1 down after three minutes if we had the threat of scoring. As it is that could be game over. Hope the lads have shooting boots on tonight!
-
This is pathetic, what the f**k is going on?
-
We can’t get the ball, should be 3-0 down already
-
Couple of good saves from him now.
-
What ever rot had set in last season is still there, even with a new squad.
-
Jones in goal Saturday then!? If so, should please some on the forum.
-
Reasonable pen shout there for a pull back on Cuker.
-
Accrington fouling every time we have the ball, when will refs realise that if you show a card for these professional fouls early it will stop them and make their lives easier
-
At least we are getting a bit more of the ball now.
-
Two clear pullbacks on Tupac. Obvious.
-
Accrington fouling every time we have the ball, when will refs realise that if you show a card for these professional fouls early it will stop them and make their lives easier
Another shirt pull to stop Cuker on the edge of the box , by the same defender.
Again the ref not giving anything.
-
Another foul by Nottingham on Cukur and again nothing yet Pell falls over and free kick straight away
-
I can see that defender walking, he is riding his luck
-
I can see that defender walking, he is riding his luck
With this ref no chance
-
Yet another totally useless referee
-
A booking at last
-
A Stanley player just got carded for something but the commentary team didn’t seem to notice it.
Number eight I think.
-
We are growing into the game, but as usual, we've got zero end product.
-
Build up play is good, end product hopeless
-
Pell 'savvy' in drawing a foul, Cuker still learning that 'part of the game' as a central striker.
-
Pell booked, bet it wasn't for feigning.
-
Tommy has not been great since the preseason games, where he did look good.
-
Cukur runs like he’s wearing diving boots
-
Yeah, get Bogle on.
-
Neither of them have got a goal in them
-
Pell booked, bet it wasn't for feigning.
Dissent apparently
-
Sky stats are great, according to them we’ve had 50% possession and Accrington 51%
-
Let's put it this way, I'm glad I haven't made the trip so far.
-
We still look so likely to concede when the opposition put high balls into our box.
-
We still look so likely to concede when the opposition put high balls into our box.
Fixed that for you.
-
Our midfield is okay, the rest of the team isn't League One quality. It's painful to watch.
-
34 mins gone and we have not had one shot either on or off target.
-
BBC stats have shots on goal Accy 5 Rovers 0, shots on target Accy 3 Rovers 0.
-
Sky stats are great, according to them we’ve had 50% possession and Accrington 51%
Extras?
-
Too many invisible players, Bostock, Baldwin being the main 2
-
I just noticed that Bostock is playing.
-
Silly me, I honestly thought the tide might turn tonight, but the minute we scored for them after 2 mins the sinking feeling set in that I’m just pissing in the wind.
-
Too many invisible players, Bostock, Baldwin being the main 2
Baldwin?
-
Too many invisible players, Bostock, Baldwin being the main 2
Baldwin?
Is he our CEOntre forward.
-
I'm staying upbeat, I think there's something in this game for us if we can show a bit of quality.
-
Predictive I never looked Barlow although he’s that invisible he might have changed his name
-
Stay positive CiM.
-
Too many invisible players, Bostock, Baldwin being the main 2
Baldwin?
Barlow.
Deidre had the same problem. Could never decide which one.
-
H/T 1-0
-
It’s a shot!!
-
45 minutes to have a shot, off target but at least a shot. This is going to be a LONG game.
-
We've got better as the half progressed. Big talk at half time.
-
We've got zero options on the bench to change it things. In fact, we might as well not have any subs.
-
Not a single shot!
Correction: on target.
-
Awful first half, headless chickens
-
We've got zero options on the bench to change it things. In fact, we might as well not have any subs.
You’re funny.
-
Where are the goals going to come from? We don't have one player in that team who looks capable of scoring. It's shocking that things are this bad. Every team has injuries to deal with, it is no excuse.
-
What a pile of shite RW has brought into this club we have got to be the worst team in the division
-
It’s not an excuse it’s a reason.
Our front 3 is out injured, and possibly our best midfielder.
-
Sky stats are great, according to them we’ve had 50% possession and Accrington 51%
Now 52%/48% in our favour. The come back is on!
-
What a pile of shite RW has brought into this club we have got to be the worst team in the division
Stop talking shite
-
Just a feeling of inevitability about losing again like last season. Said it then teams that finish so poorly struggle the next year even with a lot of new players
-
I'm looking forward to the carnival down Silver Street when we turn this one around.
-
Well sat here that was rubbish ,lucky to be 1 down , trying to play long balls against 6ft plus players we will never win the ball in the air , first halt we offered nothing second half cannot be any worse
-
Another fine mess you got us into Stanley. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
-
Grown into the game, Gardner and Close shown some good touches, but my God we have absolutely nothing up front. Wouldnt be worse with Bingham and Thomas upfront.
-
What a pile of shite RW has brought into this club we have got to be the worst team in the division
Stop talking shite
That’s your forte, you will be wanting your hero Dickov back
-
Balanced view from Hoden.
"Rovers find themselves behind at the break courtesy of Pontus Dahlberg’s very early mistake but there’s not been a tremendous amount in the game since.
The visitors have arguably had the better of the possession and have worked some nice stuff in the middle of the park but it’s still not happening in the final third.
There’s been very little in the way of penetration from Rovers and they’ve yet to truly test Accrington keeper James Trafford.
But they managed the game well after the tricky opening, slowing down the tempo and taking the sting out of Accrington’s early start."
-
It’s not an excuse it’s a reason.
Our front 3 is out injured, and possibly our best midfielder.
None of them have got bags of goals in them.
The most Fej has ever scored in a season is 10. We've had better returns from midfielders in the past.
And even so, we should have players capable of stepping up if they're out. And we don't. Not by a long way.
-
Might as well put Dahlberg up front as he's our joint top scorer, he can't do any worse than Cukur and Dierdre.
-
It is a real pain to see Rovers so denuded of attacking options, but it is nobody's fault. You would hope one or two midfielders would step up to the mark, but that isn't happening at the moment. All it take is one run, one shot. Fingers crossed.

A balanced view, but he's talking b*llocks. They battered us. They could be three up.

Plenty more teams/clubs out there for you to go & support. Please leave a forwarding address.

He scored 14 for us last season, and I think he'll do well when he's fit. Not saying that solves all our problems because it doesn't, but it's unfair to write Fej off like that because he's done well for us so far.
-
We could quite easily been 3-0 down after 10 minutes.
-
The lefties are in again the team is full of donkeys just like the Labour Party

I'm not counting cup goals. He's an average striker, but by the time he is back, his goals won't be enough to drag us out of this shit show.
-

Interesting take on things.

Cup goals are irrelevant.
-
46 minutes Accrington’s Colby Bishop takes a pot shot from 25 yards and hits the top of the stand behind the goal. But at least he had a go, that's what we want from our midfielders.
-
We could quite easily been 3-0 down after 10 minutes.
We weren't though were we?

You just go through every manager slagging him off.
You’re absolutely clueless!
Imagine you’ve no idea who Wellens has signed

Or baffling. Take your pick.

Poor messing about by Tom getting in Bostocks way - Tom has some way to go to get back to his best
-
Jesus Christ Bostock!

He scored 11 in the league, 3 in the Cup. Not my point anyway really, I think he'll do well in a Wellens team that's actually working. Not that this current incarnation of it is at the moment.
-
We are masters of our own downfall at present

Pretty irrelevant what theyve done previously. Look at Marquis
Anyhow they’re are our front 3 and they’re all out injured
-
We are f**king rubbish
-
We are pinning our whole season on three players coming back from injury, which could be months away.
-
Bogle to the rescue
-
We are pinning our whole season on three players coming back from injury, which could be months away.
Well, it gives everyone something to look forward to.
-
Not bad for a part re-build! This is going to get worse before it gets better!
-
Even Tommy Rowe isn’t the player he used to be by a mile
-
We are pinning our whole season on three players coming back from injury, which could be months away.
Not really, but take the front 3 from any side in this division and it would have an effect.
Not months away either,
People throwing toys out the pram after 2.5 games is embarrassing
-
Not bad for a part re-build! This is going to get worse before it gets better!
One thing is for certain, if we get relegated, we won't be given the resources Ferguson had to get us back up.
Everything we've built since the Richardson days is going to shit. It's heartbreaking really.
-
PL standard scream by Accy number five there, trying to get our player carded.
Springs back to his feet when ref takes no notice.
-

October is two months away. Do you see us winning a game before then?
-
This game is turning into a kick and chase affair.
Very poor quality.
-
The fact our entire season is hanging on Jon Taylor coming back is about as worrying as our current form…
-
A second shot, off target again, but a shot, and after only 20 minutes into this half.
-

To be fair I don't think it is just Taylor, it is the other attacking options as well.

I think that's a little dramatic, Chris.
Weve built a lot of lasting foundations since those days. We'll all be sat in one big example of that on Saturday, and that isn't going anywhere.
There is a long, long way to go in this season yet.
-
I just have a feeling that we might nick a point here.
-

True. But we've a dwindling fan base, and no sense of hoping to achieve a great deal. I bought a season ticket this year, but I can honestly say I don't enjoy it any more. It's more of a sense of duty.
-
I'd say it's more a priority to get back goalscorers in Okenabirhie and Hiwula then Taylor.
-
Cuker pushed as he tries to get onto the pull back by Knoyle and claims a pen.
The commentator has no idea what has happened and says the keeper got to the ball first.
-
This game is turning into a kick and chase affair.
Very poor quality.
Doesn’t worry me, hound…as long as we score, that is!

Agreed.
-
we have upped the tempo finally, and they are looking ragged - can we score?
-
im gonna say it - bogle has been ok
-
im gonna say it - bogle has been ok
I'd agree.

What a god awful game of hoofball. I hope this is not how Richie intends to play against teams with a five man midfield. This is truly dire.

im gonna say it - bogle has been ok
I think hes been hopeless.
-
Bogle finds a way to not win balls he is clear favourite for, and he does so with alarming consistency.
-

Stop sitting on the fence, mush!
-
Bogle finds a way to not win balls he is clear favourite for, and he does so with alarming consistency.
Agreed. Had a couple of balls floated to him that he should be chesting down and playing, instead hes tried hopeful headers and lost them.
Also think I saw Bostock berating him after the ball was rolled into him in the box and he just let the defender clear it. Admittedly the camera turned away and it may have been Cukur, but I think it was Bogle.
-
In other news Sunderland, Lincoln,Charlton & big spending Ipswich are all losing too.
-
I would agree about bogle overall in his time with us, but tonight he has hardly lost anything
-
So, apart from an unfortunate goalkeeping error, we'd have come away with a point from a team that took 6 from us last season. Reasons to be hopeful....& faithful.
-
Full time. Oh dear me. Shocking really
-
Game over, lost 1-0.
-
I would agree about bogle overall in his time with us, but tonight he has hardly lost anything
Dont agree, hes hardly had it to lose!
Good flicked header there to win the free kick though.
-
Well, that was poor. What happened to the attractive football we were promised from Wellens. Hoof, hoof, hoof continuously. Awful to watch.
-
Irrespective of the result, that was an awful game of football.
-
So, apart from an unfortunate goalkeeping error, we'd have come away with a point from a team that took 6 from us last season. Reasons to be hopeful....& faithful.
But we didn't.
-
That wasn’t football as I know it
-
Not a lot, if anything, to get excited about. Think we could play another 90 mins and wouldn’t score. Need to get a striker in. Did seem to play with a bit more purpose when Cam John came on, maybe start with him, moving TR into midfield. Anyway on to Saturday
Onwards and upwards
COYR
-
Grim!!!
-
Too many lightweights Accrington won almost every second and third ball, that was awful to watch, would could be playing until this time next week and not score
-
Well that was garbage. Not one positive to take from that display.
-
Making mistakes at the back and clueless up top. It’s only 3 games, but we are in a mess and it’s no good just sitting around waiting for injured players to come back. Some, or all, may have set-backs or worse.
Bottom at Christmas with zero points? I wouldn’t be surprised from where we are right now. Unbeaten Pompey up next!
-
Tipped for a win on P vO and don’t know why as cannot se where a goal will come from. Must have had a funny turn.
-
It hasn’t been the difficult start some would have you believe, either. 2 very winnable games with Wimbledon and Accrington. We’ve lost both without a whimper.
Whilst I still have faith things will right themselves anyone that isn’t even slightly concerned would be a fibber
-
Well at least vicars prediction about us being bottom of the league tonight didn't come to pass.
