Only problem is we still have a manager! Still not sure why they sacked him, irrespective of what he spent.

When you say boring long ball football, are you talking huddersfield or Rovers? I'd love Lee Clark here instead of D.S.

I'm talking Huddersfield. He has spent a ridiculous amount of money to play one style fits all football. Why would you think a club would release a manager who, from the outside, appeared to be doing well?

He also took them on a 40 odd game unbeaten run. Now thats a good record at any level with any team.

Given the option of Dean Saunders or Lee Clark, i know who i'd choose. The one with the funny sounding accent!

Lee Clark is rubbish! He's up there with Dave Penney and Martin Allen as the most stupid  of suggestions for our next manager.

Yes he did. So why do you think they got rid?

Win % stats in the lower leagues are actually enhanced by failure to get promotion though. By not getting promoted and consistently hovering around the playoffs he has a higher win %age than Penney or SOD who had to compete in higher/tougher divisions. (Although yes there are managers who continue to progress like Lambert and Adkins)

And as other posters have stated - he didn't get the most of the budget at his disposal whereas we need the opposite given the recent boardroom changes. Someone who can overachieve on limited funds.

I agree that if he did spend a lot then he had questions to answer. I'm not sure what he spent. In his defence league one is more competitive than some realise, he narrowly missed out last year and wasn't a million miles away this year. Either way, DS is the manager, and who knows we may take L1 by storm next year.

Lee Clark spent £7.5m on players at a League One club. I'd expect half decent stats from that sort of outlay.

Tbf to Lee Clark though, he left and Grayson brought in but they still look like they are bottling it.

Their problem is they have too many individual players and not a 'team'. Jordan Rhodes (best striker outside the premier league by far) as made them look better than they are, without him they'd be a  mid-table League 1 side more than likely, which is shocking considering the amount they've spent.

Which makes you wonder why he left him on the bench in the playoff final.

Huddersfield's chairman obviously thought he wasn't delivering, i think Wignall had only lost 3 games when JR sacked him (or made him redundant whichever term he used) but there were far too many draws and we never looked like getting promoted that season.

League 1 has been tough the last couple of years with ex premiership teams in it so Clark will propbably count himself unlucky on that score but his chairman obviously felt they should have been doing better.

Saunders will be here next season, the jury is still on him for me but i'm prepared to give him a chance to clear out the squad and start afresh, something SoD should have done but didn't for reasons i don't know.
