It wouldn't make much sense to loan him out when we're short of players.

Yeah, but just think about it, if he took a penalty for Barnsley against Blackpool, it'd probably hit the back of the net in Colchester. Job done!! ;)

Let me guess. We can get 2 or 3 players in if Woods leaves.

In fact if the remaining players on the books leave that will put us in a position to bring in many 'invisible' players ;)

Despite Coppinger going out on loan, we haven't been able to bring anyone in. I doubt loans out make much difference as although the cost is off the wage bill, it is only temporary.

Then it begs the question, why even consider loaning players out if we cannot bring anyone else in? Our squad is weak enough as it is. What the hell will we do when injuries and suspensions kick in?
I notice Silent Majority is now quiet on the matter, what is the situation? Why are we fed propaganda just to be left disapointed?

I totally agree with Mr Frost. Im fine with Copps leaving in order for us to balance the books but to tell us that we had players lined up when we obviously didnt is disapointing.
Having said that if we can get through to the new year in a strong position with what we have now and then add one or two to the squad we should be right up there come may

May be it was rejected because Barnsley could not afford to pay all his wages bit like us really. He is one of the high earners which Dean as said again this week they might have to go.

Another one in agreement with Mr Frost, takes you back to the days of 'mouthwatering signings' which i thought were never going to be repeated!

Whenever it is it can't come soon enough. Maybe we could ship Woods out to Vienna to prance with all the other Lipizzaners!

According to Barnsleys chairman, they agreed to pay his wages but we couldn't let him go until we brought someone in.

Maybe we can get Gavin from Autoglass to replace him, if we can afford his wages.

Would rather have seen Woods go than Coppinger tbh.

MrFrost is right, why we loaned out Coppinger in the first place when we had no way to replace him at all, let alone with the 3-4 bodies the squad needs, seems very counter-intuitive. I appreciate the need to free up the wage bill, but sending him out on loan clearly doesn't free up anything on the wage bill anyway, not really, because it's only til January! All it does is rob us of a body, a very talented one at that.
