Kate - Cancer

Now she's issued a statement perhaps people will stop speculating and leave her and Charlie to get on with their treatment
As with Charlie in for something different cancer found after surgery

Terrible news for any family to get two diagnoses in such a short space of time.

The vermin media got what they wanted, they couldnt leave it alone and rather than having a private moment with her family or releasing it on her terms she's had to come out with the news. Here's hoping they now leave her in peace but we know they won't

I got the impression the social media trolls and grifters were far worse than the so called ‘mainstream media’ on this one. Every conspiracy going was peddled by the online accounts. She doesn’t deserve the intrusion and abuse, nor does Meghan. But there’ll always be clicks and likes to be had for making up stories.

I don't wish the lass any ill personally, but it says everything about our country that our news has been dominated by her news and a few colours on an overpriced shirt marketed at gullible fools, while nothing has been said about this:

Why  not just start another thread Billy and not try to hijack this one?

Because it's apt on this thread.

It's all over the news. It says a lot about what we consider to be important in this country.

Hardly surprising given the rate of food price inflation over the last 18 months.

Everybody is well aware of the cost of living crisis we've been suffering. It's been very extensively covered in the media.

This is a new statistic but not exactly breaking, surprising news of which we were wholly unaware of previously.

Unlike the Kate cancer diagnosis story.

The thread is about Kate and Cancer where does your post fit that, it doesn't but never mind you've derailed another thread to suit your agenda
Now if ypu had said something likr sad news but what about every one on the NHS waiting list for cancer treatment fair does  however in Billy world you chose to go off on a tangent like so many times before

I wonder what percentage of topics are purely about the OP on either board?

Most people can draw a line as a mark of respect, if not for their own lack of it but at least for that of others.

...... Most people.

On the subject of respect for women, all women ................ who said this?

But it wasn’t purely about the OP, as Syd had suggested.
Reply #3 was another deflection attempt.
Not many threads get deflected after so few posts.

The vermin media got what they wanted, they couldnt leave it alone and rather than having a private moment with her family or releasing it on her terms she's had to come out with the news. Here's hoping they now leave her in peace but we know they won't

The sad thing is most people in the public don't care one bit. But the main stream media has done its usual best to whip up a frenzy and tell the public they should be shocked outraged. MSM doing what MSM do. Plus there's probably an element of retaliation from the scummy mSm because they feel weren't given enough info when she was in hospital in the first place.

Was listening to radio in Car a lot yesterday and most people who called or texted in said they didn't care or why should they care. Of course any radio guest who was from the media or a 'royal correpsndent' said "of course you should". Nope, no we shouldn't

Just to clarify - do you care or not?

For someone who doesn't care you appear to be somewhat interested in the story? For someone who does care then you seem to think the story is all about the 'MSM' (for which read - online Daily Heil comments pages) rather than a person battling cancer?

All the best to anyone suffering from cancer and to the family & friends looking after & helping them. I hope they all get the same speedy diagnosis and treatment HRH Princess of Wales did.

Poor family. Hope they both recover well.
Can't imagine the immense pressure prince William in under either.

Because it's apt on this thread.

It's all over the news. It says a lot about what we consider to be important in this country.
The future Queen has just announced she has cancer. That, to many, is hugely important to our country. Kate and William offer a much needed bit of shining light for what is an incredibly difficult and game changing period in the royal family’s relationship with the people of Britain.
No one is saying Kate’s cancer is worse for her than anyone else. No one is saying the country isn’t in a mess regarding poverty or any other issues. News like this, despite it’s tragic element, could actually bring the country back together a little if it wasn’t for attitudes like yours.
When England win Euro 2024, that will be the only news for a while. It will be interesting to see your reaction then.

One positive in this and other such news items is that they can elicit at least a smidge of real humanity in some indoviduals that otherwise are absorbed in a life where that can go amis most of the time. The repercussions of that can make some positive difference, at least in the very immediate term.

Two personal thoughts:

1. May God bless Kate and her family.

2. England won’t win the Euro.

I agree with you on the first one, NR. I'm unsure about the second one.
