Has to start on Saturday. Did exactly what we missed on Saturday. Great performance.

Yep. I thought he was our worst signing tbh. Shows what i know. Just needs to be loved and played. Keegan as well.

Harper does need to get match fit. He looks to still be a bit "timberish" to me,  and definitely slowed down towards the end. Good signs so far though.

Remember,  if you are a VSC member you own a bit of him this season. I bagsy his knee (mine's knackered.)

You reckon we can we get a decent picture of Harper to put in the new header image Rob?  :scarf:

Got to agree Harper had a cracking game tonight, would take Woods place for me.

Thought it since last Tuesday, and tonight affirmed it 100%. Harper needs to start, what an influence he can be for us in the centre of the park.

Very impressed with Harper today, seems happy to sit in front of the back four and cover for others. Does the simple things well and breaks up play. The big positive for me is that tonight when the ball went to the flanks Harper goes and gives the wingers an option inside, which helps open things up further forward, Woods rarely does this.

Played well, as did Blake and Keegan, all need to get fitter. Let's not start making Woods a scapegoat for every bad performance however. The guy is just back after nearly two years and will be a big player for us at this level.

Agree 100%, Bobbymax

We have a small squad so lets not start picking holes in it.  Everyone is clearly doing their level best under difficult circumstances and giving us one hell of a ride so far.  Well played, Rovers!

Not making Woods a scapegoat, we've lost one game in which everybody was below par, apart from that we've had a great start. Just thought Harper played well and our shape looked better. Can't make my mind up with Woods, think he might be better on the left side of midfield than in the centre.

When we get some images we can use of the new players/players who are staying.  Transfer window closes on Friday, so it will be after that.

Making nobody scapegoat but I would player Harper and Woods with Syers infront of them allowing him to link up with the strikers. His best position for me.

If you played Harper and Woods with Syers in front of them, would Syers not be behind a striker rather than the strikers?

It could be striker or strikers with one attacking forward.
I believe he will score more goals than Kyle in an attacking midfield option either with one striker or two strikers depends on the system. But playing in the centre midfield with a two does not allow him to get forward enough and blunts his effectiveness in getting goals.

I'd certainly like to see Harper from the start in a midfield diamond, with Syers in front of him flanked by Woods on the left and Copps on the right.

As we know, Woods, Copps and Syers can provide that flexible movement we need to create space, with Syers having a licence to support the front man and get in to the box.
