Play off dates and KO time?
« on April 20, 2013, 07:45:49 pm by Padge_DRFC »
We can only finish third now if we lose on Saturday. Does anybody know the dates of both legs and KO time? Also looking likely it will be Sheff Utd or Swindon.

Don't wanna be a doom monger but if Swindon and Sheff U win, and they lose to Bury next week we could end up playing bleeding Yeovil. Of all sides in the playoffs they'd be the ones I'd least like to face.

Hopefully we'll be involved in a boring 0-0 game at Brentford and not be involved.

An update from the Football League site:

npower League 1

                  1st leg (match A: 6th v 3rd) - Friday 3rd May 2013, kick-off

                  7.45pm

                  1st leg (match B: 5th v 4th) - Saturday 4th May 2013, kick-off

                  5.20pm

                  2nd leg (match A: 3rd v 6th) - Monday 6th May 2013, kick-off

                  1.30pm

                  2nd leg (match B: 4th v 5th) - Monday 6th May 2013, kick-off

                  4.30pm

The Final will take place at Wembley on Sunday 19th May 2013,

                  with a 1.30pm kick-off.

Sheffield United cannot play on Saturday 4th May due to

Sheffield Wednesday playing at home. This order may reverse

depending on where Sheffield United finish - the Blades could

                  finish 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th.

Ithought we were guaranteed 3rd place if we lose Saturday.

With a defeat on Saturday, we are guaranteed, but Blades could still manage 3rd if we got a result vs Brentford by Blades winning their last two games (80pts) and topping Brentford's current 79pts.

Yeovil could also finish on 80pts meaning even with a draw for us on Saturday, Brentford could finish as low as 5th.

This of course wouldn't affect us as we'd be up!  :scarf:

Red Baron. The Blades/Weds thing. Would that only affect the home/away order of the Blades games but not the date? (Or in other words, would we definitely be playing Friday or could that change if it's vs Blades?)

I think they mean that Sheff U can't play at home on the Saturday. Obviously if they finish 3rd or 4th (which they can still do mathematically) they would be away in the first leg. If they finish 6th they'll play at home on the Friday anyway.

So it would only affect matters if the Blades finish 5th.

Whether that will then have any impact on the "order of play" on the Monday, I can't be sure.
