What's the point in loaning players out to clubs like this?

I think that some fans have been calling for him to get first team game time Red J but with our riches of attacking talent he is well down the order.
Also he has been injured for a few weeks hasnt he?
I suppose on loan at Ilkeston he will get played regularly and build up his match sharpness.
Also, a few weeks ago none other than Jones said he wasnt yet ready for the first team.
It probably will do McKay some good.

I would like to see them going to a club higher up the pyramid. The only thing I would say is that he has been injured and maybe needs games to get fully fit. He'll also continue to train with us, which he wouldn't at a full time club.

Hopefully he will stand out at that level.

I thinkthe n answer to the question is ... to play competitive football as part of his rehabilitation  from a serious injury lay off .

He will be playing with and against grown men a fair proportion ex-league players. It must be good experience for him surely.

You could ask the same of Keshi Anderson coming to us.

Don't see a problem with this.

Before we was sending players to likes to Scarborough Athletic.

If we can build some sort of relationship then we can maybe have players to send a league or 2 higher up.

Maybe if he impresses he could end up in Conference North on loan? Improves his reputation.

Like it says on the article.. Che Adams who is a hot prospect at Sheff Utd was there on loan. It's all about building relationships.

Then other teams will see perhaps how good our young players are and take a chance on them. Then onto the Rovers first X1....

Che Adams was signed from Iilkeston, so if it was good enough for him, then why not McKay?, once our club gets a reputation for bringing good youth players through, higher clubs will loan them, he will learn more playing for them than youth football, it will toughen him up.

With how things are at the moment it would be impossible for any manager to bring them into the first 11. Exception for Lund, Middleton etc. Worth their while going out on loan, well maybe 3 or 4.

I think a fair few of the younger players will be involved in the game at York on Tuesday. After that, it would be good to get a couple of them out on loan. Mandeville and Whitehouse in particular, maybe Paul McKay if the injury situation in defence eases a bit.

Jack played the full game for Ilkeston, who beat Nantwich Town 3-1.

They have a young striker called Lee Ndlovu. I don't know if he is related to that fabulous footballer Peter, but in any case he might be worth a look. He scored two today.

Gordon Strachan's son Gavin is the Ilkeston manager.

82 minutes for Jack last night but no goal. However he did help Ilkeston to another win, 1-0 over Barwell.
