Alfie Beestin
« on December 17, 2017, 12:54:53 pm by Copps is Magic »
Did two or three very good things in the first half yesterday. Then for 60 odd minutes largely absent until he popped up in the second half and did 1 or 2 good things again. I was watching him; very skillful on the ball and definitely more tenacious than Mandeville. But they both appear laboured at times, almost unfit, and I question whether we have a coaching team to take them on to the next level.

Like Mandeville, needs to put on some bulk but there is definitely a decent player in there with a footballing brain.

Beestin has got absolute bundles of ability. Hopefully he can be polished up. He came into the pro setup quite late so it’s not easy.

We are a bog standard lower league football club - but can’t agree on your Beestin assessment - the only thing he lacks is bulk and pace - unfortunately pace is God given and you can’t acquire it - Bulk on the other hand can be acquired with weight work & evenings out with Douggie

Are the initials E.L.F. a clue to the real identity of our own Christmas troll?

Beestin is a young lad with potential and that's about it. He should not be in the first 11 and he should only be making the bench now and then. This is how depleted we are. There is no way that we should be expecting the likes of Alfie to be pulling trees up and the manager should not be in a position where he hasn't a great deal of choice but that is exactly where we are.

I do think that we need to work on fitness  sprinting and stamina
Oldham looked very good breaking out of their own half and getting themselves into 1-1 situations

Shame you didn't get my very subtle play on words, dray. Here's a clue, elf/troll.

However, it is such a pity he is acting like one.
