Absolutely. Legend and for league two absolutely. Chris Brown too. Both would be great at league two level, though i do accept we need a younger squad and players with energy and legs too.

What is this fascination with ex players? If this season has taught us anything it's the need for young hungry players with pace and power.

I'd take Green. Always had a great engine and his heart is at Rovers. I think he'd add to the team but it's what Ferguson thinks that will count. I don't think he'll make any decisions based on sentiment.

Don't see the logic in it. Tommy Rowe is our Paul Green going forward.

Green was about to jump ship before he went to Derby. The plan was for him to move to L**ds, once they'd achieved the simple routine task of beating little old Donny at Wembley. Notice Greeny's less happy than the other player's' expression at the end?

I've got a few mates that are millers (sorry!) Who know their footy - and they reckon his legs have gone! I wish he'd had one championship season with us before jumping ship - but you can't blame him for wanting better wages at a bigger club! I wouldn't want him to come back for a swansong tho I don't think, I'll thank him for stoke and his time with us and remember his impact - I wouldn't want to see him do a wellens or sharp and look a pale imitation of the player I remember! Obviously personal opinion only!

Didn't jump ship as you put it,didnt get on with SOD it was only JR and the supporters who wanted him back in the team and he was one of the main reasons Rovers got promotion,as for now I don't know if the injuries will curtail his career

We could do a lot worse!  He is 33, so I too would prefer a balance of ages in the squad, however he could still do a job for a season or two.

so for me it's a "maybe"...

will probably end up at Barnsley!

are you f**king serious?? He spent 9 years of his life at our club. More than most players spend at any one club. Hardly jumping ship! Clown.

Lets move on. Them who always rant on about past players need to forget about the past and look forward to the futcher. Greeny way past even L2 level now and Browny as been put out to pasture

Tommy is one of the only previous players I'd take back. Solid left back and can play in the center if needed.

Tommy Spurr would be best defender ever seen at League Two level if he signed. Less than zero chance of him dropping down to this level.

P.eople on here are posting about former players that for the Rovers were good. But I think DF is likely to look for players who in the past did a good job for him as with T Rowe, managers like players they can trust that's why a lot of SODs signings had been with him before.

What a load of b*llocks.

I'd be absolutely devastated at just playing and being in a promotion winning team at Wembley.

If you got offered better money elsewhere you'd be on the move in the same position. Unless of course you buy into the lovey, dovey, love the club, love the fans type crap.
for green at the time it was not even about money , he would have signed a contract at Christmas if one was offered to him which rovers never did and by the time rovers finally got round to a contract offer it was to late

Agreed, he would be the best left back in the division by a country mile.
