Clearly out of favour, but he would need to be replaced.

This wouldn't surprise me as he's had very little game time under DM with Gomes being preferred even from the bench.

Maybe so
But the squad is paper thin as it stands so selling a senior player would be ridiculous

Good player but never consistent. McCann I think got tired of that by the end. Moore obviously doesn’t fancy him.

I agree with all of that Jonathan, but I honestly believe Alfie May can play that role, and better than Crawford.

Whiteman, Sheaf, Gomes and Blair all ahead of him.

That depends if we are bringing some one in that DM believes will do a better job. Can’t see him going unless he is replaced.

If he does go, our wage bill must amount to peanuts per week.

Personally I'd have him above two of those players in the pecking order for the central midfield role.

Disapointing one this, good underrated player who I prefer to Sheaf and Gomes.

All about opinions DO. Whiteman and Sheaf are defensive midfielders. I personally think Alfie's much better than the other two, and I rather suspect DM does.

Update on Crawford. Suggestion that his contract could be terminated by mutual consent - which would put him in the free agent list. That also means he wouldn't have to be done before 5pm.

I wouldn't mind Crawford going. Too lightweight and loses the ball too much. Moore clearly spotted it also (Me and Moore are clearly footballing gods)

I will say though, if our only bit of transfer business this deadline is to lose a player to Bolton! It will be the existential meltdown of all meltdowns among our fans.

If he is in demand (which he seems to be) from other clubs, shouldn't we be looking at getting at least a nominal fee?

I agree Sheaf has been given DM and Gomes also but Crawford is ours and hasn’t been given the respect of his position in the squad . DM has only been here a few weeks and has sold our best goal scorer brought in and lost the services of a centre back after only 2 games . If DM is to be the manager we need he has to stop kicking out players before he brings players  in .

And that's how it should be. We were promised we'd be able to strengthen toe squad with the money from Marquis. Potentially, all we will have done is trim the wage bill further.

Not if that reduces the demand and we end up still paying the wages of a player who we are not going to utilise

If they want him that bad we need to find out what they're willing to pay for him, not just binning him off by terminating his contract.

They're obviously not short of a bob or two now with the experienced former Championship players they're signing.

Seriously? We’ve freed up thousands since last season.

I wouldn’t be at all comfortable pushing Alfie May into a central midfield role that he’s never played before. Crawford is clearly out of favour with Dm, but he was a fairly big contributor to our success last season and I’d like to think we had more of a plan than chucking Alfie May into an unfamiliar role. We’ll see, as I type there are still 31 minutes to get incoming deals over the line. (30 minutes now).

The deals only have to be done and dusted or at an advanced stage at 5pm with proof to support that so transfers can still be processed after that 5pm in some cases.

Wouldn't be a massive loss but it does leave us short of a capable body in midfield.

From what I’ve seen of Gomes, Ali is better.
