We must be the only ground in the existence of football to insist that people 'deflate their inflatables' I f**king pissed myself when I heard that.

What set of f**king killjoys are running that place? They want a major kick up the ass.

Rigo, you do know me, let me just say, I've never used another posting name. I've spoken to you on many occasions. With Gareth, Stuart, Filo and am a very good friend of Jucy.

It wasn't you I was referring to with the multiple aliases thing, by the way.

I just find it very ironic how ad1982 only ever posts when a particular person is on the back foot in a forum debate. Check his posts from his profile view, it makes startling revelations.

You must lead a very sad life Rigo. Having to check every little detail. I reckon its paranoia. I know who AD is. He's a very good friend as it happens, but I don't have more than one account on here.

You can cause a lot of damage with an inflatable banana....Don't know where tho....lol

perhaps they were talking about the somewhat portly WBA supprter  Adrian Chiles?

Possibly could be Rigo. He might very well be sat next to me now. Listen pal, you really do need to get a life. Look at yourself.

The announcement about the inflatables made me laugh too. There must be at least 15 yards between the fans & the goal line. Now correct me if I am wrong but I have never heard of anyone being able to launch an inflatable that far & cause serious damage to anyone.
As for the situation at the end I also believe the police & stewards could have dealt with it with more common sense. The ultimate goal for most if not all footie fans is promotion & I for one like too see fellow fans celebrate it hoping that I can once again have that feeling soon.
The only time there was any danger that the situation was going to get out of hand was when the police started to get extremely heavy handed.
Common sense can go a very long way to defusing a potential problem & today the authorities seemed to lose theirs.

Oh dear. I stopped having an imaginary friend when I got to about the age of six or sevem!!

I'd love to look at myself and spend an eternity admiring my perfect and handsome looks, but unfortunately I can't see a mirror around at the moment, so no can do I'm afraid.

AD is Andrew, a mate of mine who lives now in Scotland. He was at the game today. He registered on the forum a while back using one of my email addresses as he doesnt have one. He is staying at my gaff tonight, hence posting on here. He'll also be at the Scunny game Rigo, if you would like to meet him.

Now Rigo, isn't it past your bedtime?

Thanks, that was very helpful.

EDIT: Are you under supervision? BTW, as to your original question, posted second in this thread which seems to have started this - 'When have we ever invaded a pitch like that away from home' - the answer is Stoke's Britannia Stadium (I'm guessing you didn't encroach).

We do seem to be on the end of promotion parties though in recent years.

Got no problem whatsoever with the WBA fans going on the pitch, let em have their moment.
Do some of our fans not remember stoke, dover, and to a lesser extent mansfield?
Mind you alot on this forum are jonny come lately's, and wouldnt have a clue what i'm on about.

F**k me Rigo even Alice didn't have one of those mirrors.
If ever you find a mirror that makes you look perfect and handsome hang on to it. It will be worth an awful lot of money.

At last, there speaks the voice of sense. The way some Rovers fans on here take the moral high ground repulses me.
Mr Frost (I don't think I know him btw!) don't let people grind you down, you've as much right as anyone on here to voice your opinion, whether people agree or not ( I don't always agree with you nor do I always agree with some of the more \"Senior/moralistic\" people on here either.)

Afternoon gents. Just thought I'd give you a bit of perspective from an Albion point of view.

First of all, most of your stewards were fantastic yesterday, as were your fans who were very complimentary and friendly. Donny town centre was also a cracking place - I must admit, I expected it to be a bit of a dive!

Anyway, the pitch invasion. I didn't agree with it one bit - it's not our pitch and you lot have still got games left to play on it. It's just disrespectful, really.

However, one of your stewards in the suit and sunglasses (blonde haired fat c**t) decided to punch and kick one of our fans AFTER he had been restrained. This is just totally unacceptable and resulted in a load more going on the pitch to confront him and inform the police of what they'd seen. I went on just to inform the police of what I'd seen and then when he saw me point him out, he decided to start goading me and several other fans from behind a line of police. Proper big fat coward.

Anyway, thanks for a great day and being so hospitable. All the best for the rest of the season and if you don't make it to the play-offs this year, I'd be pretty confident of you lot making it next year. Very good footballing side - just a shame about your dog head manager!

Bloody hell boys, what's happening here? It's like being sat in the middle of my little lads classroom. Mr Frost appears to have become the Lewis Guy or Mark Wilson of the forum, why? I don't always agree with what he says but it's all about opinions and he puts his across quite well. I've never met Mr Frost (yet) but we are doing a spot of business together and he is most helpfull and a genuinly decent bloke. I have met Rigo and you are also a decent fella and i like you but you are guilty of being a sheep in this case. Why can't folk have a difference of opinion without name calling or virtual bullying? It's spoiling the forum and takes time reading through the petty squables and actually getting to read something relevant is getting harder as the weeks go by.

I'd like to put across my point of view being one of the stewards moved over to the North Stand from the West at the end of the game.  The crowd situation was under control until the West Brom players came running over to the fans and this caused fans wanting to get to them and an advertising board being kicked off which flew into the air.  This had to be moved so as not to cause any injury and this unfortunately left open a gap for the West Brom fans to get onto the pitch.  In my opinion, we were understaffed in that corner (closest to the West Stand) and it was clear that the main area where fans were going to try and go on the pitch from from this corner.

Once they were on the pitch it was safer to move back and get the players in before moving the fans back which i believe was done well.

I cannot speak for any other steward or member of the police because i was dealing with the situation in my own way.

In my opinion the problem started when the West Brom players ran over. They had ample time to go into the dressing room after the game, get changed and then come back out and see the fans; the fans were always going to wait.  i heard numerous fan leaving angry calling their players selfish bstards for not coming back out.

Official complaints were made to the referee, match assessor and WBA football club.

Lets take  slightly different look this.

A fan runs onto the pitch after being told not to, he is grabbed by either a steward or the police.
Whats going to happen to him - he is either escorted out of the stadium or put back behind the barriers.

However, when the fan resists and starts rolling around the floor with either the stewards or police - or both, then it all changes and it becomes a public order issue which can't be dealt with in a relaxed informal way.

Its as much how the fans react as the officials.

Sorry Jesus, offical complaints were made by whom to those authorities? By Rovers? By the police?
My understanding is that is there is an issue with fans encroaching onto a playing area then it is the home club who takes the blame - hence the reason the bloke on the mic was telling the WBA fans not to go on the pitch. Do you know if any complaints has been made against Rovers - we can do without a fine thats for sure?

that bloke on the mic at KMS was a prick

i was i west stand corner and as wba fans were spilling onto pitch
to which i have no issues with.just stood there on me own
at the very front on the fence arms folded minding me own bussiness
enjoying the baggie fans having their moments

more than enough west brom fans were a foot away from us on the pitch and
gobbibg off to us,they did not want to shake my hand is fare to say.....
..'dont be silly skip there is more than enough cctv in this ground, enjoy your
party'....was me answer

i then became aware of a lone donny fan in rovers shirt who was giving it large to wba fans due to them been on pitch i guess, maybe the wba lads gobbing off were pissed with said rovers fan....suppose thats football for yers.

a couple of west brom fans were taken out of ground by police and
i had to laugh as football banning orders would be put in place for sure
hence them missing the return to prem next term.

think there should have a much bigger police presence on the pitch as final whistle went,as stewards dont caryy the look or sense of authority

I agree, but it's not cheap.  We should have had them in and then billed WBA for the cost.  It really didn't help their players ignoring being asked by the club to leave the pitch then come back out.

Not sure what more Rovers could have done, it wasn't our fans and the stewards did their best.  It takes a lot and aggression to keep a mob like that back.

Baggies fans  were always going to invade the pitch at the end of the game, emotions running high they'd just been promoted for gods sake.Remember Stoke???? We were also told to stay off the pitch,Did we??? did we hell. I know its against the law and if you resist arrest then you deserve to be arrested but not man-handled and punched  by some arsehole security prick in a suit who think he's hard and can get away with it because he's security. The best wat imho  would have been after the intial invasion to put a line across the 18yrd box and let them celebrate to their  hearts content.Im sure this was done to us at an away game before, might be wront though. Anyway good luck to wba, the fans i were talking to in beefeater were sound. Hope they stay up
