Title: Crewe Managers post match comments.
Post by: newyankee on April 16, 2013, 01:33:37 am
I have just watched the post natch interview with Crewe's manager after the game on Saturday.

According to him, they should have won and at least 2-2 would have been a better result.

We are only on top of the League because we play percentage football, putting the ball into the box and looking for knockdowns.

When we get to the top next season WE ( Crewe) will do it by playing proper football.

They only scored becaause we made mistakes, isn't thay what the game is about, making your opponent make mistakes and taking advantage.

Mind you that's what you get when you have a massive budget, you can bring players like Paynter off the bench. What's the old adage about sour grapes, why did they make mistakes, because we forced then to do so.

So we didn't contribute to their goal then.
The match stats for us look quite convincing to me. :scarf:

A lot of what he says is right.

He is a footballing amoeba, pondlife, a midget. Operates at the bottom rung. Totally irrelevant to us.

He's not been any good since he won the Embassy Masters in 1982

We won because we created 4 times as much as they did.

Very much a case of sour grapes.  His side got beat, so he should look at their failings.

Nowt like being gracious on the day etc?

He could have said "it was a scrappy but entertaining game played in blustery conditions where both sides made mistakes but Doncaster capitalised on ours more than we did on theirs, and they created many more chances.  That's why they are top and we're not.  Can't fault my players' efforts but congratulations to Doncaster"

not difficult is it?

keh, are you having a laugh, we heard him on their local radio after the game and I thought he was going to choke on the sour grapes he was spouting, like someone earlier on here said  just look at the stats.

Ignoring his comments and the popular debate about our style of play I certainly wouldn't say they exactly knocked it about either and as mentioned above - their goal came from our mistake.

If he didn't want his side to make mistakes they should probably review playing their #2 - possibly one of the worst players I've ever seen, albeit playing on the wrong side.
