Title: Total Lockdown

That’s a very good question Vicar.

Will a national lockdown actually mean a total and complete lockdown or will professional sport be allowed to continue.

If it does mean TOTAL, will this season be completed in full, because any further lockdowns in the new year will put the EFL and Premier League season in serious jeopardy.
Financially this would be the death nell for dozens of clubs unless an appropriate financial rescue package is put in place.

Over to the Premier League and the EFL to get their fingers out and come to a solution that is fair and proper with the interest of all 4 pro leagues and the National leagues.

Any one holding their breath? The oxygen is about to run out on so many clubs within weeks i fear.

On t radio this morn, it said the prem was safe due to the regular testing of the players and officials, and lockdown actually makes it safer as there's less folk walking around.  How the teams outside the prem will be effected, who knows...

Game in hand so yes probably.

Wembley here we come. Can we play Posh please. Would just love to beat them with a controversial penalty in the 94th minute.

My view is that if it's safe and responsible then it should continue .

We need something to look forward to and keep our spirits up ........... yes I know ...... but you get the gist of where I'm coming from

That would be a serious test of whether the Premier League actually care one jot about the clubs in the EFL.

Mmmmm, is this another thing that could be added to the health or economics argument?

Yes prem clubs all get tested but the players get that much money 💰 they think they can go and do anything they want and they are getting the virus by doing it.  And championship teams down playing without testing is causing a lot of the virus spread

I think the last 7 months have proven that they don't, unfortunately.

I think we know they don’t care Alias. They have shown their true colours already.
Well the so called big 6 don’t care.

I think many clubs who have spent considerable time in the Championship and lower over the last 25 years probably can see the bigger picture.
I would imagine they genuinely want to help the EFL clubs if given the opportunity to have a fair way of distributing funds across all 72 clubs and i would hope the 3 national leagues also.

It’s not just the Championship clubs though is it.
You will know that Scunny have had big problems recently with Covid.
On Thursday they only had seven players available for training.
This situation is really becoming a big issue in football again.

Even if cancelled they would not have any promotion or relegation I doubt, surley they would have to be way past half way in the season

I don’t think any of us were being serious about a final league table after 10 games.

They should have come up with a plan in the event of this happening again so we all knew what would be happening if the season was halted at any time. There could have been different criteria once certain parts of the season had been passed.

Instead, we will all be left guessing again.

The way things are they may as well scrap the concept of a season lasting a s centen amount of time and just keep stopping and starting TIL all games are played even if it goes TIL next Christmas then when all is done av 6 weeks off and go again

The more lockdowns and chaos, the more EFL clubs will struggle and the more likely the top Prem clubs will be able to press ahead with their restructuring plans  :suicide:

Actually we would only be three points off the top if we won our game in hand and Charlton and Sunderland won theirs too.
We could only be in the top six if one or both of Charlton or Sunderland failed to win their game in hand.

I can't see how the Football League can continue in a lockdown. It's not just about the players, it's about all the support staff for the games as well; groundstaff, media, stewards, ballboys etc.

The lockdown restrictions would prevent these people getting to fixtures let alone carrying out their matchday duties.

The fact is, much as we all love it and want to watch it, football just isn't an essential service. It shouldn't be given special treatment.

I’d say groundstaff, media and stewards can all work quite easily while socially distancing. Members of the media can travel alone and have a whole stadium to space out. The players cannot Social distance but these are elite physical specimens and not at high risk.
The masses need a distraction or they will find other things to entertain themselves which maybe won’t be as covid safe.

The wording was something along the lines of, if you can work from home you should do. Footballers can't work from home, so maybe it will all continue

Stick to Thorne If you want to get better, if you can hit the fairways there you can hit them anywhere, a short course, bit can punish you if you are not accurate, played it loads of times, only a mile or so down the road from me, don’t like Kingswood much though

I absolutely love Thorne mate.

The only reason we’ve gone kingswood more is you can play 9 holes which is all I can manage most of the time with work and a 3yo.

Thorne is also built on clay but is more established than Kingswood with much better drainage

You could probably hit the car park of Thorne from one of the greens at Kingswood with a 5 iron over the railway and trees 😂

I was once a very poor golfer for many years , I discovered rescue clubs , I ditched the driver and three wood and replaced them with an 18 , 21 and 24 degree easier to hit rescue clubs .

Solid 90's man with the occasional venture in to the high 80's .

Any practice work on your short game , 10 shots a round easily saved with some practice .

Don't go for too much , you ain't a pro , get the bugga on the green , lag your long puts to two feet etc .

It all adds up and you'll see your scores come down immensely which will give you confidence .
