Got to remember the interviews don’t start til Friday. So although the movements in the market suggest Hasselbaink is in the running, it doesn’t mean he’s got the job. I feel we can do better. His managerial career has been on the slide of late.

Would be a disappointing appointment

Bookies probably just know he's got an interview nothing more

More likely that recent money is going his way? It'll be interesting to see who else comes into the running in the next day or so.

How on earth do the bookies odds make ANY difference to the appointment, before even the interviews?

Surely they only reflect the betting public’s speculation?

Who even bets on this £20 could make a massive difference to odds

To make a big difference like it has jimmy must be fairly confident and people he knows must of put a few quid on

Believe he if appointed would not be our first black manager. Tony Cunningham was I think for a period the caretaker. We also have had minority manager in Sammy Chung.

Rovers the diversity capital of South Yorkshire.

I saw he was in the running and out of interest looked at his records. Must say I thought he'd done better than he has.

Burton record impressive but rest is shit. Big name ex-Premier League player. You are always going to get foot in door whatever your managerial talents.

It's what's behind the name that matters. What tools do they have at their disposal. The Dutch are normally big on coaching the technical side of the game and bringing on young players. That would tick a big box for me but I don't know if JFH is that kind on manager or a more of a man manager.

You are correct. Tony Cunningham was caretaker manager in 1993-94 for four games between the sacking of Steve Beaglehole and the appointment of Ian Atkins. Unfortunately his record was not great - one draw and three defeats.

Interviewing JfH would satisfy the "Rooney Rule", of course.

If Jimmy had been a success at Northampton he would have gone to a Championship Club . Now has gone the way of many others who failed  to prove that they were capable of improving the status of there previous club . Though DF wasn’t everyone’s fav ‘ he did put us back where he found us . A proven track record is all the board have to go on.

We also have had minority manager in Sammy Chung.

Genuine question, how many managers with Asian backgrounds have managed in the football league? I can't think of any apart from Sammy.

He is of Tunisian origin. Tunisia is in North Africa, not Asia, which is several hundred miles away.

Met Tony in a " professional capacity" several times and we were on opposite sides of the desk.He loathed his job and wanted to get out as soon as possible. Pleasant bloke to deal with though.
