Typical..

There’s a Leeds fan in my office, does a school run with his kids so I usually get there first..

I had “another one bites the dust” all ready to play when he walked in, but the selfish w**ker likes gridiron so has taken holiday today after Super Bowl..

There will probably be something else happening Leeds-related to rip into him with tomorrow.

Here's how they signpost the manager's parking space at Elland Road...

I didn't think Heckingbottom would touch Leeds with a bargepole! He's not going to be popular at Barnsley!

I saw a few comments from Leeds fans on social media who were unhappy about Heckingbottom. Apparently he has not always been complimentary about Leeds United. If that's the case, talk about setting off on the wrong foot.

You mean will they come in for Fergie? In their position they need a bit of a firefighter and that's not his track record, is it?

I can’t see Fergie being remotely interested in Barnsley. I think he knows he has a solid job at DRFC with owners who don’t sack managers after 4/5 defeats. He is in the middle of a 5 year plan to get Rovers into the Championship. I think he will see that out myself and will stay longer if he feels he is getting the budget required to establish the club at 2nd tier level.

Barnsley also don't sack managers,
And they've just got new very wealthy owners it would be an attractive job

Their last 2 managers providing PH leaves would have left on their own accord as was the case with Lee Johnson. I kind of feel that when SO'D was given the opportunity to leave us for a bigger club that he should have done and would have been of benefit for both parties IMHO.

Heckinbotham would be a fool not to go to Leeds. Financially it makes total sense. He will be on a much bigger salary than he is at Barnsley. He knows before too long he will then get the sack at Leeds with a great pay off. If he stays at Barnsley he is going to get the sack sooner or later.
Take the money and run mate. You are only doing what your players do.

Hekingbottom confirmed as new LUFC manager
https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/22980/paul-heckingbottom-appointed-head-coach

Makes you wonder what Leeds actually look for in a manager? Heckingbottom has "achieved" 4 losses and a draw since Barnsley's only win of 2018 back on 1st Jan.
I'll give him to the summer before he gets sacked....

Just because a team isn’t winning games does it means the manager is a bad one? I don’t think it does. When spotting potential and recruiting in any walk of life sometimes you have to look a bit deeper than face value results to find the right person.

I get your point Gaz, and I actually agree with you.

However how often do we hear the "football is a results business" from chairmen, managers, and fans too??

I can remember when he went to Weeds, it was in the Yorkshire Post he had a £1 million pay off clause put in his contract the same as fatty Evans had if he was sacked.
Good on him, it must encourage them to fail. the next lad wants to do the same thing, only for £2 million.

They were after that Crusaders lad, so that must be a doubt now.

Nobody in their right mind would sign for em, unless you were after a quick pay-off.
The fella that signs you will be down the road before you get a sweat on, and then the circus will change the decor again.

If they are not bringing football into disrepute, who is?

Besides Blatter, the FA, the Premier League etc...obviously!

There's another one Geoff; "they're", which signifies where a group of people are, or what "they're" going to do.

Going back to the subject, I've just looked on Wiki, and it's a staggering 9 managers in just 4 years. That's absolutely unbelievable, and just to compare it with us, we've had 2 in the same amount of time; small mercies eh?

As we keep saying, Leeds is the gift that keeps on giving.

As I grow older I try not to use the word ‘hate’ because it’s a very extreme emotion.
And I reprimand my daughters when I hear them use that word.

So I need to find a replacement word to describe my feelings towards Leeds Utd.

Living in West Yorkshire for the past 40 years, I’ve rubbed shoulders with countless Leeds fans in my various jobs and my social life.
Of course, there are good Leeds fans and bad Leeds fans.

I’ve made friends with some ‘good’ Leeds fans over the last 40 years, and for them, I feel sorry. I find I can’t laugh anymore at this pathetic football club, because there are genuinely good fans following this club who are embarrassed and hurting.

For them, I send my sympathy for this latest bizarre turn of events.

However, for every ‘good’ Leeds fan I’ve encountered, there are 100 for whom I can only have contempt (I found another word!).
I saw at first hand in our play-off victory against them what they are about.

So for those Leeds fans..... hahahaha! Here’s hoping for another season of under-achievement and embarrassment next year.

By the sounds of it Marcelo Bielsa is meant to be their new man, he's just awaiting his work permit.

Read a few comments, not sure how true they are?;
- Been out of work for 3 years
- Pep Guardiola has said in the past that Marcelo is the best manager in the world
- He's worked with the likes of Messi and Aguero
- His favourite formation is 3-3-3-1

Sacked before Christmas then...

If they know they're going to get a good pay off then they're on a hiding to nothing. Worth risking a taint on their CV.

Makes me chuckle when a minority of our fans thought we were a laughing stock. Look no further than Bellend Road. It seems they'll stoop to anything to try and make that leap to the promised land... Apart from getting it right on the pitch!
