That must have taken a massive amount out of each and every one of them, both mentally and physically. The pressure of a must win game in front of a big home crowd, going 2-0 down, putting everything into an amazing second half and then a celebratory lap of honour - their heads must be all over the place.
They’ve now got to recover, make a long journey south and do it all again. I hope they can, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t.
As many have said already, they’ve done us proud and given us another football memory, and more importantly- they did it in front of a lot of potential new supporters.
The futures looking good no matter what happens Tuesday
-
The aches and pains will be managed. The euphoria from that drama will make them hungry to feel it again.
-
Light training all week
-
In GM we trust - there will be no taking results for granted (pardon the pun!), if he can get them up like he did for the 2nd half yesterday he can do it again in the next two games. The force is with us Luke!! :clapping:
-
They need to come back down and refocus now because the job is still far from done. They can't let yesterday go to waste now and they certainly need to remember those first 45 minutes rather then the second.
-
I actually think 3 more points might be enough. It might not of course.
Barrow are under pressure now.
Crawley likewise.
Crewe are in terrible form.
Walsall almost certainly blew it yesterday. Need all results to go for them now. In fact they need a minor miracle.
Bradford daft as it seems could get in top 7 along with us.
Gillingham and Wimbledon are out of it. Does that help us next Saturday at the Priestfield?
Crewe could miss out if Colchester beat them 3-0 next Saturday.
-
I said a Crewe 3-0 defeat could be fatal for them well a 1-0 defeat could. Their goal diff is only + 4 now
Ours is + 2, Crawley + 4
So many permutations still left.

They're the team I'd least like to face. They win on Tuesday and it's a strong possibility

Do you mean Bradford Padge? I assume you do but a few teams mentioned in my post.
-
I’ve mentioned it before. Col U and Gills away in the same week is a shocker. Especially after the second half effort yesterday. Hak’s could hardly walk when he went off. As much as they have looked it recently, players aren’t machines. I think id take a point now if guaranteed it on Tuesday. I think that’s what we might get.

I'm praying that barrow get one more point from 2 games , I think that gets them a berth and knocks out Bradford, then it's just up to us...
-
Non of this worry can seep into the dressing room. My message would be win Tuesday and there's a good chance we'll finish the night 5th going into the last day with pressure off our backs.
-
Am I right in thinking that a Rovers win and a Bradford loss on Tuesday night guarantees a play place?
-
Yes, the players put an awesome amount of energy into yesterday’s game but NEVER underestimate this group’s determination to ensure their endeavours yesterday were not in vain.
McCann & his staff will prepare them for this final push.
I see nothing but a victory for Rovers on Tuesday.

No Crawley could still catch us on goal difference if we lose and they win on the last day.

Ah of course, cheers. I'm blinded by the euphoria still lol

No. Crawley could still overtake us whatever happens.
That’s why that last minute goal for them was huge.

So a win and a draw does it

2 wins would do it and let's finally get this 1947 10 win streak hoodoo off our backs.

This is true, although as the substitutions demonstrated yesterday, we have a bench now. Hurst could start for instance. Likewise Biggins. We are stuck with Joe but otherwise rest of our XI largely has a back up option.
-
To be fair Haks looks like that at the end of every game

stuck with Jo? Lol, I'm sure theres worse players to be "stuck" with
-
1 game at a time.
-
Of course, we all feel drained but these players are professional athletes. Yes, they're also human beings but as we saw yesterday, it just takes a spark to ignite the performance and then it's the pedal to the metal running on adrenaline!
It's a heady mixture that could take us all the way.

Yes, that would mean we can’t finish lower than 7th..

The Barrow manager should retract his false accusation in light of the video footage evidence of no assault on their keeper
-
I agree Filo, I’m not concerned about the lad thrown over, not sure he was young( looked bald from my position) the keeper felt it was a threatening situation and I would too.
Just ask him to admit he was lying, or whoever told him it was physical assault was lying.

He should be asked when did he see his keeper 'phyisically assaulted', or was he lying, they are the only 2 options. That keeper who he said was fuming in the dressing room, the same one that turned around & applauded at full time. The guy's a tool, he can't take we took his team to the cleaners second half, & he should have more about him than bleat on about something that never actually happened.
-
I think a win tomorrow would be enough. I don't fancy Crewe to win at Colchester and I don't fancy Barrow to beat Mansfield on the final day. Grimsby can also go to Crawley and play with freedom. Theres just surely no way 4 results can go against us.
-
Who would have thought every result would go for us last week?

And all but one last Saturday.
-
Crewe, Barrow and Crawley are all bang out of form. I would be amazed if all 3 win and we lose
-
No doubt here about tonight’s result.
2-0 Rovers.
There, said & done!
