Don’t need no “ it’s the Managers decision” clap trap, just want to know YOUR preferred back four, or don’t respond if your a bit scared!
-
Halliday Wright Anderson James.
I win.
-
Halliday Wright Anderson Amos...................for now.
-
No brainer.. Play round pegs in round holes and hey presto...
-
I’m a bit scared so I’m happy to leave it to the manager.
But if pushed I’d say Halliday, Wright, Anderson and Amos

Bad answer, easier to be honest rather than cryptic....
-
Halliday Wright Anderson James.
I win.
This, apart from the "I win", as padge has took that all ready.
Can I claim 2nd?
:-)

Halliday Wright Anderson James

Halliday. Wright. Anderson. James
But unlike others I have no problem with John he is the quickest defender we have where Amos is the slowest.
I would like to concentrate on our attackers really
Sims had his quietist game today.
Taylor has good work rate doesn’t score enough goals.
Coppinger good with ball again doesn’t score enough goals.
Lokilo still learning the game will improve.
Smith good passer more in the middle of midfield.
Richards will improve but again as yet doesn’t score enough goals.
Okenabirhie as good a striker that we can afford but will he take forward not sure.
JJ and Tulloch when fit need to play more to see what they can produce.
Williams not sure.
-
James at left back, Wright and Anderson in the middle and Halliday at right back. I do like Amos, John and Butler as alternative options too though and in terms of today's game I thought the back five - including Lumley - looked more on the same page than any of the front six.

That’s deflecting from the op !
Start a new thread by all means but keep the crap off this one!
You gave your back four so thanks
-
Brad ,Wright ,Anderson ,James .I reckon Cameron would be better in midfield partnering Ben than Reece is .CJ likes to break forward and is more positive .IDM I trust .
-
Personally I’d go with James Anderson Wright Halliday which i think is Moore’s favourite too.
My issue is when we try to fit John in to counter set plays at left back.If we’re going to try that why can’t we play a back 3 we have the players for it in theory. I would have gone with the below today (I know it’s easy in fantasy land!) just looks like a team with players in their actual positions
GK
Wright Anderson John
Halliday Whiteman Smith James
Coops Feij Sims

Sorry to upset your thread one liners was never my forte

It doesn’t matter who plays in the back 4, from the options we have, as currently it’s the best part of the team (as a group).

No preference then?

Horses for courses!

I think the problem is Darren Moore imself having signed John it seams to me that he's got to play him at any cost
-
Despite all the negativity around John at left back today, I thought he was ok. Problem is that him playing there knocks the team around and you end up with James in centre midfield, which doesn’t really work for him or the team balance. We have Smith and Whiteman who are both excellent players and both play centrally. I don’t understand why James is made to play centrally.
-
Play Cameron John as a holding midfielder in front of the back four and put Reece James back to Left Full Back ,sorted
-
It sounds like it could work but I don’t think John has ever played there for us, or perhaps at any stage of his career. Saying that, I doubt Reece James has done so either.
-
I thought that when John first came and played at centre back, he looked composed, graceful and his distribution was excellent. Some of his passing recently has been absolutely awful - it might be a lack of confidence but I wouldn’t trust him as a holding midfielder right now.
Another point is that like James, he’s also really one footed, which stifles the quick movement through midfield - one of the big strengths with Whitema-Sheaf axis last year was that they could get the ball from anywhere and recycle possession quickly on either foot. James (and I expect John in that position) just can’t do that, whereas from what I’ve seen Smith can which is why he should be partnering Whiteman there.

With the small squad we have you’d have thought it would be a simple process to pick a starting 11
What we’ve available now
Lumley
Halliday. Anderson. Wright. James/Amos
Smith. Whiteman.
Sims. Taylor-Richards/tulloch. Coppinger/Taylor
Okenabirhie/John-jules
When John-jules and tulloch finally return then I’d maybe bring them in
But that starting 11 in my opinion is our strongest side
-

It's just not true, is it. In 13 games this season (discounting the EFL Trophy) he has started 7 games and been on the bench 6 times.
I think he's played okay at left back most of the time. I'd prefer James or Amos there because they are left backs but still, it's by no means the big problem in our team at the moment.

That statement should have been underlined, Alias. ;)

The problem is all six loanees can not
be in the starting squad. Lumley while he is here will start. Smith when available should start most games. Sims again should start. Because we’ve only got Okenabirhie then John - Jules should be in the squad. So that leaves Richards or Tulloch to be in the squad,
This is not the back four, but most of them play in the area which needs most improvement attacking midfield or attack.
If we keep Lumley fit he should start in next eleven/ twelve games. But should we be looking for a GK to sign in January to compete with Jones for No1 spot. Then convince Sims to sign on till end of season.
The back four whoever DM picks is not the area of concern it’s whats in front of them to be consistent in passing, creating and scoring.

I know we have only seen him once but Lumley could be that goalkeeper in January.
-
I would put John further up the field as when he does go up he is dangerous and can score goals, and I would play Amos at left back
-
Bursik is clearly a talent but it was a flawed signing in the first place as we must have known he was at high risk of being called up to all the u21 squads, which would be highly disruptive for us. I would have thought that someone with more experience like Lumley would have been a better bet for us, particularly someone who was not at risk of being recalled either. Guess that is hard to know for definite though. We need to be expecting Jones to learn from the loan keeper and not sure that was ever on cards with Bursik.

It’s not a problem though because I’m playing EITHER tulloch or Taylor-Richards not both of them

Riley, Redknapp, Adlington and Reid. Vorderman on the bench. ;) ;)

I’d prefer the back scuttle myself.
Whoops, I mean backstroke

I guess 100% of the those not willing to sit on the fence feel that Halliday, Wright, Anderson, and James is our strongest most fluid balanced back four.....
Thus ends this mini poll .....

Harry Redknapp? Whatever floats your boat...

lumley was 1st choice at qpr though at start of the season
