Would these 2 fit in? Would they be a worthwhile signing in anyone's opinion.

Fejiri did ok this season with 9 in 26 in all competitions, but didn’t play a single minute between December and April. Perhaps unfairly some clubs will shy away from him given his injury record, even if different injuries.

We’ve moved on let’s leave these particular ex players in the past.

We need to be looking at top end league 1/ championship level players

Steady on. At the moment we’re still in League 2.

And If we go up we’ll have the lowest budget of the 4 promoted sides. Never mind whoever misses out on the L1 play offs or comes down from the championship.

Obsession with past players is a theme on this forum.

No they are the past.
JM is well past his hey day which was with us for 3 seasons.

Feji I think has been released for a reason by a lower league 1 club.

Yes they made a mistake with Joe Ironside but then maybe he wanted a fresh challenge and wouldn’t sign a new contract, I don’t know.

Look forwards is my motto. The past is exactly what it is, the past.

Tell you what.

As a good a player as Marquis was for us (& at that time we for him) it’s in the past.

If we had signed JM at the beginning of the season to ‘lead the line’ as Ironside has done, do you think he would have fulfilled that role better or worse?

I’ve never seen Joe throw his arms up or moan in a manner that can be interpreted by the supporters as Marquis did when he received a misplaced pass or indeed didn’t receive one.

Marquis did have one thing in common with Ironside, he never stopped running ‘for the cause’.

Was Marquis a better ‘natural goal scorer’ than Ironside, I would say you’d have to give him that……maybe’s.

Was he a better ‘team player’ than Joe….I’d say not in terms of holding the ball up & laying it off.

Opinion’s eh.

They’ll be the death of me!

A past manager has done quite well coming back. Yes to JM would provide good competition. No to Fej.

Apart from Grant and Cliff the past is indeed the past.
Not sure how Fej comes into any signing equation or thoughts we’d have.
Super John WAS just that, but not now, we have our eyes on Hak’s and a decent keeper don’t we?

You know what our budget will be next season then?

Reynolds has already said he needs help with funding the club if they are going to progress further.
Mansfield will not a have a large budget by League 1 standards. Mid table max.
Stockport likewise I would imagine.

Rotherham will definitely be struggling to maintain a competitive budget for a top 6 league 1 position

Huddersfield and whoever else comes down will I expect have large budgets for League 1 .

I am sure if we go up our budget will be competitive.

This made me chuckle; had a swipe at somebody claiming to know Doncaster’s budget and then suggest you know those of half the league

It's not just past players though is it?

Some still have an obsession over past owners and Chairmen.

Look forwards?

No I never said I know, it was an estimate of where their budgets would sit in the league.
I have no more knowledge than anyone else.
Don’t try and be clever. I was replying to a statement that our budget would be the lowest of all the promoted clubs. That’s not a fact is it?

I’m not claiming to know, I’m just using common sense.

Even if we’re in League 1, Stockport and Wrexham will likely have higher budgets than us next year. Wishful thinking to suggest otherwise.

This is fairly uncontroversial, surely. Be surprised if we had a bigger budget than Mansfield too, but depends what TB's aims are and what budget he sets.

All of this is assuming we can finish the fairytale this season, of course.

Peak Marquis was quicker which allowed him to sniff out more chances and offer different options to the midfielders.

Ironside is slow but he doesn’t need as many chances to score. And he is simply a better all round footballer. Better touch, pass and better in the air.

I agree with you. I didn’t like JM’s attitude towards the end. Not helpful. I hate playing with people like that.

So we can't discuss ex players in a forum without needing help but just remind me who is the manager and assistant manager at the minute

The Manager and Coach are not kicking or heading balls on the pitch and running several miles each game.

Young players could be available because their potential has been misjudged.

Old players are usually available because they've been correctly judged.

Good luck to them but no. Shame for Fej because injuries are screwing his career he's a good player.

JM on the decline but was immense for us.
