So who’s going then?
Got a note through the door today from DRFC advising of the noise pollution, it said they are expecting 25,000!!
Excellent coup getting these and although 2 years late, should be good!
Just wondering if anyone knows, will catering be supplied by DRFC or the event organiser?
No way our lot are going to handle that many people wanting a beer.
-
When I took the wife to see Ah Ah and OMD, the catering and bar facilities were independent on the pitch, non of the concourse was open

That’s reassuring!
-
Im going cant wait !!

25k? You sure 11-12k can fit on the pitch?

Yes that’s what it said.
-
Blimey big money maker then for us.

No that includes the queue on the concourse at the kiosks.

I doubt the size of attendance impacts what the club get.
I suspect the event promoter would have negotiated a set price to rent the venue. The onus would then be on them to sell enough tickets to cover all the costs and make a return. From the clubs point of view, they would get their fee regardless of whether 2,500 or 25,000 attended.
That’s I think it would work anyway

There's a bit more too it than that, the size of the crowd is definitely reflected in the income that DRFC receive.
Plus we have additional revenue as the Eco has been marked down as the rehearsal venue for the start of the tour.

We will make a killing (excuse the pun) off the Car Parks, charging nearly as much as the ticket to the gig to use car park 2
-
4 of us going. My main worry is if I'm having a beer where do I have a piss? Tickets on the pitch, take a bottle?
-
Who the hell are the killers ?
-
A band that is probably going to end up funding our next signing or two.

That would be a classic pop song of any era (and it's not my era) When they drop this I expect the entire crowd will sing along to every word.

Just listening back, the thing about the Killers is they sound so damn British. They could be from Manchester or Camden but they are from L.A.
By all accounts he is a big Anglophile. Here is performing at Glastonbury with, appropriately Johnny Marr (he plays guitar). He performs it like a football chant.

Am I right in thinking venues can get a cut of merch sales as well these days?

I was there, it was an amazing set but I enjoyed their "secret" set in the John Peel tent the year before, more

They can, tenders to be the bigger corporate owned venues who do it. Shame they can't offer the band a cut of the bar in return, bit you know, there's a penny to be made.

The killers are from Vegas. I’m not going sad to say as I do like them, but tickets are very expensive IMO

Come on; even BB and Wolfie know who the Killers are; and the last live gigg they went to was Lonnie Donegan at the Gaumont.

I hate to be one of those ‘I preferred their earlier stuff’ types, but I saw them, by accident, at the Leadmill just as they were breaking in the Uk.
My daughter and her mates were going but their nominated driver fell ill, and I was press hanged into taking them, in return I got a free ticket.
I must’ve looked like Peter Stringfellow as I went in surrounded by 4 beautiful leggy 18 year old girls.
I propped myself at the bar and was very impressed with the band and became a fan.
Was less impressed the next day, when the 4 pints of Coca Cola I drank, wreaked their revenge.
As for the Killers, Bit too AOR for me these days.
In fact it’s fair to say, I prefer their early stuff!!

Only managed to see new order live once, in an underground car park in Manchester about 5 years ago. Every bit as good as I hoped and the low ceiling venue really put the cherry on it.

The Blossoms are a real good support act too.
