That’s all
-
That’s all
WELLENS OUT
Sack him now
-
the mad thing is that we are not a million miles away from safety, shows how poor the rest of the lower division is...
-
I know we’ve been bad this season but this has taken it to a completely new level.
Can’t believe what I’m watching, we look like we’ve got 10 men again!
I think it’s time for a change, we are clueless.
-
Get rid of Wellens. There is no sign of imprivement. Just what do the team do in training? Obviously shooting and defending don't seem to figure in his plans,
-
No excuses no more fed up we people saying
The ref was shite, should have been a pen, it was offside, never a sending off
This manager can’t even get into the team to have a shot on target this is basic football, he’s totally clueless, and I won’t except if in any after match interviews were he will blame everyone other than himself, this is painful move on RW

Adam? Seriously. We'll be 6 points adrift in about 10 mins and where do you see us getting 6 points from with all around us accumulating zero??
In the last 5 games and a possible 15 points we've got 3.
-
At our season average rate of accumulating points, we are 9 games from safety...
-

A miss us as good as Mile !!!
-
Thanks Billy – that puts it into even more stark reality.
-
Never thought Idd say this but if we are to have any chance of staying up this season then we have to replace Wellens now. He’s totally out of his depth
-
1 shot 0 on target embarrassment
-
There continue to be lots of mitigating factors, but sweet Jesus this is absolutely terrible. I dare not do this myself but has anyone counted up how many shots on target we have had all season? There is literally like today nothing for anyone to cheer, even when we are losing. This has to be the worst forward line in our history. Even 97/98 did better in front of goal surely?
-
37 points now needed from 27 games for 50 points.
The uphill climb just got a bit steeper.
-
Is it Wellens or a lack of quality that is our downfall. For me the blame lies higher up than him !
-
He has to go now. No one can watch that and honestly still back him. Hell of a played and I loved him to bits but it’s just not working. There’s no shame in saying that
-
We often talk about players stealing a wage well we go one better. The manager and the whole back room staff, some who have been there a long time are stealing it. Manager and coaching clearout required
-
1 shot 0 on target embarrassment
Keep going on about these shots on target, so would u be happy if we had 10 shots today from 40 yards that trickled Upto the keeper?

Are they the only two options?
-
No, but shots on target doesn’t really tell you if you’ve played well or not.
We didn’t today but we had plenty of shots at Gillingham and lost 1-0

come on, it’s basic football that to have any chance of scoring a goal is to have a shot on target, the manager should be doing this in training this is our 6th league game where we have never mustered a shot on target, it’s shocking basic football been fu—— up by a manager who can’t get the best out of a poor squad
-
I can understand why so many people want Wellens to go but.......... In all seriousness do you think anybody else could get any more out of this rubbish? TB and DB won't be bothered if we are relegated as long as they don't have to put anymore money into the club and they won't sack RW because it would mean they have to pay his contract up.
-
This thread has saved me starting one
For those of us who can’t get to games can we be enlighten to the problem
Is it the manager who’s not good enough
Is it the tactics
Is it the players not good enough
Is it the players good enough but not playing for Wellens
As someone who is not watching and only reading I get the impression it’s the recruitment was not good enough and the team are awful
The thing I’d like to know is it the players or the management
His excuses seem to be running out
-
It has long been the club policy to support the manager.
It is a fundamental part of their business plan. I don't expect them to veer from that course now. I don't think there are financial constraints, I just think they want to build stability.
-
All you need to do is look at the bench today, that should tell you everything about whether the manager got much support in the summer or not
-
If the team are that bad Why not give some of the young lads a go. At least they’d try
-

This is an often heard cry from the support. The problem is Rovers are throwing in a lot of youngsters right now and it's too much too soon.
Richie is right in his assesment that we need some older heads.
-
It worked for fergie.
-
What worked for fergie?
-
Never thought I would see a squad on close to being on par with our 97/98 squad.
-
The squad is weak mainly due to injuries
Can’t be compared to that in 97

sooner lose 1-0 with plenty of shot’s that lose 2-0 with zero

Surely this is why we need to reinstate an U23’s squad so they can be called upon. If the club want to bring through players from the youth set up whats the point of sending them away to non-league standard clubs where theyl probably just get bullied & learn very little. An U’23 squad needs to be the next step for the youth team lads, young loanees & possibly those coming back from injuries. Surely it would save money in the long term.

I’m sure you weren’t on here after Gillingham saying how great it was that we had plenty of shots

That was that game, this is a different one, would have thought the comments are on todays game.

Stop making excuses for Wellens. Just replace him. A new manager couldn't do any worse.
-

What’s that got to do with anything?
Surely if you’re constantly moaning about lack of shots then you’re happy when we do have a lot of shots

Indeed. But today we didn't have lots of shots. Therefore he is unhappy. Pretty simple to understand. He was happy after the Gillingham
game because we had enough shots and unhappy today because we didn't have any. Makes perfect sense to me.

Oh dear
He wasn’t happy after the Gillingham, that’s the point

Dicky’s we lost against Gilliangham. Is that the bright point of our season that we should all look too? Look forward to the end of season highlights “5 shots on target v Gillingham in 1-0 loss”
God the bar is set low with you.

That’s exactly my point,

Good, sorry misread
Would be a concern if he was

I have backed RW all the way. He has been dealt a difficult hand with regard to having to completely re build the squad with a limited budget.
The squad is no where the finished article and will take some time to get to that stage.
Having said that we had a starting 11 today which on paper was capable of producing an awful lot better than what we saw against Burton.
That performance today was unacceptable and anything less than 100% effort and commitment is inexcusable.
I can accept losing a football match in the circumstances on Tuesday at Bolton but today only Anderson m.o.m for me, Rowe and Dodoo put 100% effort in during those 94 mins.
Dodoo gets a lot of criticism but quite frankly you could have replaced him with any other striker playing in league 1 and he would not have scored today.
His hold up play was excellent, he worked hard, made runs and got precisely zero service.
To go 94 mins and have 2 shots, not one on target is mind blowing.
What are we doing in training regarding our offensive play.
We even had a corner and passed it back to the keeper.
I have backed Richie 100% but you can’t make any excuses for that performance.
Injuries, referees, linesman etc etc just don’t wash.
There is no excuse for that display I witnessed first hand in the freezing cold.
3 more League games for RW to get this team to perform.
Not talking 3 wins but 3 performances or he has to go. :that:
-
All the Wellens fans should listen to what Campsall has just said, because he is consistently the most optimistic poster on this forum.
When he's p*ssed off, something is seriously wrong.

Oh right. Apologies Dickos. Fair enough then. It's a bit daft.

Today was the most disillusioned I have been whilst Richie has been manager, there was just nothing whatsoever - the excuses need to stop and the players need to put in some effort

I heard on Radio Deedar that there was some unsavoury scenes and exchanges at the end between fans and Wellens etc. Is there any truth in this and if so, what happened?

No not forgetting that, but he’s made this suggestion on another thread and I thought he meant Darren but apparently not.

against someone weeks ago.

Does anyone actually think there is a manager out there capable of getting dodoo and cukur, up to any sort of standard fit for this league. Seriously?
