Do you think Cook will go to Wigan?

They were talking about it over the last week or so of the season. Personally I would say No,  but the uncertainty and problems with the take over are getting them rattled.

Who cares about Curtis bloody Main, i'm more concerned about our total capitulation and how it's been total overlooked.

Yes. We definitely need more consideration of our capitulation. I fear we have not yet identified a suitable scapegoat.

Let's make another 20 threads about the capitulation. It MUST be addressed.

Brings it home though that someone like him has benefited from our free fall

How will it feel when Kyle Bennett is taking the p*ss out of the South Stand fans next season.

Not even played for us this season and it's Main's fault

He's out of contract and looking like he's on his way to Ipswich.

Proving a lot of Rovers fans wrong about his ability then.

Imo his ability wasn't in question it was his attitude and choosing when to use his ability.

Attitude not his ability was the weak point and that will be his hardest challenge.

For anyone to get the best from him he needs a rolling 1 month contract so he always needs to be in shop window
Bags of ability and brilliant at cutting in from wing and shooting.......when the mood takes him

I'll be surprised if he lasts the season out.
He just doesn't seem to have consistency. His occasional flashes of brilliance are outweighed by his lack of effort for much of the time in my opinion.
He doesn't seemed to have learned a lot. Potential is alright in the young but after a few years you need to deliver on a regular basis.

But they've given him a 3 year contract. Surely no club would do that if there was the slightest doubt about the player? That would be the way to suicide. I wouldn't give him such a contract, but Pompey have. Maybe he's matured? Got more consistent? Something must have changed for sure.

I know. I thought about them and thought there really are some silly people around. Ours were signed by an acknowledged wally who got what he deserved. Are we saying that Pompey have a similar wally in charge - after he's just won the championship?

The "acknowledged wally" who gave Evina a new 3 year deal and then barely played him is still in charge of our club.

Somebody needs to knock up some t-shirts with something like 'The Titanic went down....it was Main's fault!. You could go through all sorts to put to it. 'Shergar goes missing...It was Main's fault' etc, etc.

Pompey fan here.

At the title presentation at the end of the season, Main was brought out along with the youth framers as opposed to the first team, despite playing a fair few games at the start of the season. Pretty sure he didn't get given a medal.

Bennett, on the other hand, thrived at the end of last season. I think Cook found a way to get the best out of him.

Their takeover is to go ahead. Big dangers next season.
Title: Re: Portsmouth
Post by: chave on May 22, 2017, 03:06:41 pm
Unlikely that we'll be too impacted this season; takeover is unlikely to go through until close to the end of the transfer window, and the main priority is making sure the stadium meets health and safety criteria. If it didn't go ahead, however, we'd have potentially had some rough years ahead.

Poor takeover in my opinion. The value is all wrong, despite considerable investment over the last few years it hasn't been reflected in the purchase price.
