Was that any better than the one Marquis scored against, I think, Bristol Rovers away?

No it absolutely wasn’t better, in my opinion that is...and the Sadlier goal was even better than that....
unfortunately the wonderful goals scored at lower league levels don’t count...
Because anyone on less than 10K a week is not really regarded a good footballer....
I guess assessing the technical ability of any given strike is subjective...I don’t watch Premiership teams so wouldn’t know who scores what and how....but what I do know is that I’ve seen some stunning strikes in the lower leagues that take ya breath away.....
-
Herbie Kane’s vs Blackpool was one of the best I have seen this season..
-
My view on goals like that is, for every 10 attempts 9 of them end up in the stands and they are no better than some of the goals that are scored week in week out at lower levels, it was good but not a wonder strike.

Have a look at the goal the Exeter player scored on Saturday
-
How is it 10 times the goal or worlds apart??? Nowt in em, John's is maybe better for me, cheers for the links.
-
Very good goal but not a patch on Tommy Gaynors overhead kick at Darlington in ‘86!!

Salah's was just clearly a better strike,it was like a rocket. Johns was nowhere near as accurate. A great strike regardless but I don't think it was anywhere near as good of a goal. John had far longer to pick his spot and line the strike up too.
The level of opposition and standard of goalkeeping/defending should also be taken into consideration.
-
Opinions I guess, we'll disagree on this one.
-
John also had a hand from the wind. I remember at the time thinking has he hit that knowing the wind would maybe carry it beyond the keeper. It was during one of the storms we had over the winter, I'm sure.
-
When you look at Salah's goal from the tv camera angle, it was a ferocious strike, as srtraight as an arrow, I haven't seen a ball hit as hard and straight as that since the days of Tony Yaboah.
-
It was a very good goal, but gets a lot more exposure because of the team that he plays for.

You are Phil Thompson and I claim my five pounds

Unbelievable strike- It was like a rocket.
tell Salah not to cut his hair til he does it again -- anybody can have his moment that Exeter goal was far far superior than a hit and hope shot now let's bring up that old chestnut phrase ........... if a Brazilian had scored that Exeter goal ..............
-
According to Dean Saunders on talksport, Aubameyangs goal last night was better anyway.

I suppose you were at the Memorial Stadium to know what the conditions were like, eh?

Mulligan’s strike right in front of the away end at Oakwell in 2005/6 was pretty spectacular too, as was almost everything Stocky scored with..
I still think Curtis Main’s cracker vs Bristol City was possible the best strike I have seen at the KM..
-
what about that bald headed forward we signed can't remember his name who was always injured but in one of his rare appearances lashed in a worldy at the Km, was it against Leicester?
-
Steve Brooker, and yes vs Leicester
-
Kieron Brady at Glanford Park
-
Freddie Piqquione at Forest.
Brian Stock at Posh.
Steve Brooker vs Leicester
Billy Sharp vs Middlesbrough.
All memorable goals in recent years that stick in my head.
-
Gaz Roberts also at Posh..

johns hit the top corner, mo's was more central, but with pace. How do you work out johns was less accurate??

That is not how i recall any of the goals. I have just rewatched JM goal and it was nowhere near the top corner if we are being picky. But we will agree to disagree.
-
I've just watched the Marquis goal in question and it flew straight into the top corner, right in there at the back of the net. It's as good as Salah's goal I'd say, fair comparison.
-
King Alick, too many times to remember, and with either foot.
-
Alick from near on the half way line when we beat I think Torquay 1-0.
It wasn't a lob either.

Marquis strike no where near top corner, about halfway between pitch and crossbar.
Also Salah strike actually hit side netting so cant see how it could be described as "more central" and was about 18 inches higher than Johns.

Thankyou, finally somebody without red and white tinted specs on, I thought I was going blind...
Clearly Johns was a great strike,I'm not disputing that... But it was about mid height in the goal, it wasn't top corner whatsoever.
