On their board they describe us as a non league team punching above our weight with only a couple of thousand fans!

I've gained a bit of a dislike for Plymouth this season. Would love to see them bottle it.

Let's show them who are the real bosses of league 2 on Sunday. See it is the same ref as back in December when we undeservedly lost 2 -0 and had cops controversially sent off - not sure I am happy about that.

Yep. Another post on there says he doesn't think we will go up because we haven't been consistent enough. Seems they all have the same mentality as their keeper.

All these comments from their board and from their local rag need pinning up in the home dressing room.

I find the choice of referee to be 'dubious' at best. Has he booked a seat on their team coach?

I just had a quick glance through their history and it isn't a whole lot different to ours apart from our spell outside of the FL.
Plenty of yo-yo years but notably they were involved in the only FL match to have had five players sent off and three of them were theirs.

I love it how are five year spell out of the football league so often defines us to other teams. Remind me where the points gained for attendance column on the league table is again?

Hate having to mention this just before our big match with Plymouth.
My Step son Neil Illman played for Argyle and was playing that day at Chesterfield and I was there myself to witness the mass brawl.
Only 3 players were not involved and one of them was Neil.
5 players if my memory serves me correctly were sent off. Bruce Grobbelar was in goal for Plymouth. Davies ( ex Bolton etc ) who was only 18 at the time was one of the ones sent off for Chesterfield.
A day I will not forget in a hurry.

Yes Neil played 2 games for Rovers under Ian Snodin.
He played for both Northwich Victoria and Stevenage against Rovers in the conference.

Their local media is something else.

If we need 8 points to clinch automatic then by my reckoning they need 14. Not impossible, not even all that difficult, but surely enough not to be calling the season over.

Look further down the page and they are also saying they should have had more players in the L2 team of the season.

If you look at the top of the article, this is actually an opinion piece by Paul Sturrock not too different from the ones John Buckley does in the DFP. If it was an objective journalist writing that Plymouth are up and it's job done, then I'd be laughing derisorily but it's Sturrock, a legendary club manager who just offers his opinion that they're up and should focus on finishing 1st or 2nd. Fair enough to me.

I liked, "I don't know what Doncaster's run-in is like compared with Argyle's..." 2 mins of research and you'd find out mate!

And I went to school with his step sister. Her name totally escapes me though.

😂

Come back Plymouth when you've seen silverware, hmm.. in the last 10 years what have we witnessed?

JPT Winners
L1 Play off winners
L1 Champions

2 great stints in the Championship, come back Plymouth when you've witnessed that in such short time.
