To be fair he was against Sully who was 43 at that time even Flynn brought him back for experience

And he was playing behind a defence of Spurr, Jones, McCombe and Quinn. About as solid as it gets at that level.

And yet it was still obvious that he was bobbins.

I thought he was really poor, not ever good enough to be a first team keeper here. He once went to throw the ball out to the full back and just lobbed it straight out, it thudded off the advertising hoarding and the only thing missing was the sad trombone sound.

I maintain, based on absolutely nothing but my own belief, that if Woods had played at Brentford instead of Sullivan, Trotta would have scored. Sully got booked for chirping in his ear and wasting time before the kick and I believe it helped put him off.

Yes it is quite possible but I guess we will never know.
Maybe if O’Connor had taken it against Sullivan instead of Trotter he would have scored.
The argument between them must have put Trotter off as well.
