Just think how Accrington feel, with being the butt of a joke in adverts, and Bumble as a celebrity supporter, they are probably more famous at present than a team like Sunderland, who have just been a  hum drum premiership side for so long.

Sunderland will be under massive pressure from their fans to win L1 next season.
The same as the weeds were and they took a while to get out of it didnt they.
You are where you are in the league on merit.

Although Birmingham City is the closest League ground to where I live I'd rather avoid them because we have a dreadful record against them. They make Blackpool look like an easy three points.

Also in the days that they were still called Small Heath we suffered our worst League defeat (0-12) against them.

Looking at the table it's hard to see Burton and Sunderland staying up. One from five for the other place - Barnsley, Birmingham, Bolton, Reading and Hull.

Interestingly out of those 5, Birmingham are the most in-form team:

Barnsley L3 D3 (3 points)
Bolton L3 D2 W1 (5 points)
Reading L3 D2 W1 (5 points)
Hull L2 D2 W2 (8 points)
Birmingham L3 W3 (9 points)

Hull have turned a corner so they'll be fine. Between Barnsley and Bolton for me, with Barnsley in pole position.

I totally agree with that, Brian; I absolutely love the whole ethos of Accrington, the cosy little ground, the dedicated hard core supporters, and, as I've said in another thread, that stalwart manager, John Coleman. I loved visiting there last season; the only thing that spoiled it was the result.

How good would it be if Sunderland away at Accrington was the first game of the season.
Bump for Sunderland fans.

There’s every chance the ‘random’ fixture computer will throw that game in.
Same as it was written in stone we’d be at a relegated side when we went up to Championship first time. And again when we played at Brighton in their first match in Championship

Why is it a dump? and why should a Sunderland fan be so arrogant as to make a comment like that? it reminds me of "TLO Doncaster" which is such a familiar comment in the football world.

Some of it isn't random though, the fixture at Brighton certainly wasn't.

Yep, I am sure you are right.

That is why it wouldn’t shock me if that fixture happened.
Maybe we should put a few quid on it.
