Bostock gone down in my estimation.
« on December 02, 2022, 12:57:27 am by Tiddysdad »
After saying that he didn't want to drop down a division I thought he would have signed for a few teams including sheff Wednesday. Then all I could see on his Instagram was his involvement with the church no football at all. I thought ok your choice John. Then I read that he was training with Nottingham Forest under 21s. I thought ok a premier league team using his knowledge. But to now read he's contemplating signing for Notts County is a joke. I work at county and if Donny wheren't my love, life and passion they would be my team but I feel he's only wanting to sign for them because he's now ran out of money.
Why has he not signed for someone before now. Why didn't he stay at Donny.
Sorry but I really thought he could have settled down at Donny and had a long career and seen his family settle and grow.
Sorry for ranting but just feel piss off that someone with so much tallent just throw it away.

He certainly wouldn’t be signing for them for the money.

Not good enough. That’s why he has not been snapped up by anyone.

Yes he can pass a ball. He is not mobile enough though. Can’t do the hard yards that’s needed in pro football.

Sorry I think he was well over rated by some people on this forum and some Rovers fans in general.
Just my opinion.

If he signs it'll be a short term deal for a club he lives near until he finds something else.

I'm with Camps, I thought he flattered to deceive.

However turning down a contract with a decent League 2 club for six months unemployment then National League football does seem a bizarre career decision!

It sums him up though he continually makes what from the outside are the wrong decisions, they might not be for him granted.

He could have become a massive player for us this season and got himself some real fans.  He chose 6 months watching the tv thinking he could get a gig elsewhere.  I'm sure he has his reasons, he seems a decent guy though and everyone has their own reasons for things.

If he had stayed with us this season could you imagine the outcry now about how out of key he would be for this team and manager in particular.

We keep harping on about wanting a team that was looking forward and with speed and incisiveness in both mind and body, everything that JB is not about.

The right decision was made for both player and club.

Could never and still can’t understand why so many thought he would go to Wednesday.

Not good enough to fit into their squad with their ambitions.

Talent alone will only get you so far, he was the footballing equivalent of a barber - short, back and sides. A good player but dwelled too long on the ball & looked a million dollars when nobody was near him. I always thought he was a luxury type player in league one, goodness only knows how he’ll cope with the rough and tumble of the Conference

Still just shocked by a move to the Conference, thought someone in L1 or L2 would take a punt on him, probably at a reduced wage for as long as he has been sitting.  Hope he finds his form wherever he ends up.

I'd still take him over Clayton.

He lives in Nottingham so the move makes sense

He would be a disaster in this team.
Sorry for all Clayton’s shortcomings I would not want to swap him for Bostock because he would not get any time to play the way he wants to in this league. He would be closed down and would lose the ball in areas of the pitch which would cost us big time.

You mean pretty much like the rest of the shower that are still with us?

Another footballer and some supporters who thought he was better than what is was is. We still have numerous players who supporters believe they better than what they actually are and our results over the last two seasons whether in league 1 or 2 have proved that. The answer is you get what you pay for.

He just hasn't got the legs to be a full time footballer, he's only still in the game because he earned such a massive reputation as a kid.
We've got quite a few non-mobile players don't need anymore, especially injury prone ones.

Can’t imagine him getting stuck in on a cold Tuesday night at Halifax,Gateshead,Altrincham etc, to much in the Harry “Showtime “ Forrester mould

There a chance he’ll be on more money at Notts County than he could have got here and an 18 month contract

How many will he be injured.
https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2022/december/bstock-signing-071222/

Having read the full article Notts manager is saying exactly what we hoped he would be like for us. He's got a great reputation but in reality I feel he falls short.
