Let's now pass this over too quickly lads.
Some individual brilliance with absolutely irresistible teamplay today. Some of the balls going through to the front 3 were unbelievable.
We're actually getting better.
-
If we don't go up this season, we will be serious contenders for automatic promotion next season. This kind of momentum is important.
-
The one touch play, speed of thought and movement is different class. Today was a complete performance. Could have had 3 or 4 more goals.
Haven’t stopped smiling yet.
-
If, and I predict we will get to the playoffs, no one will want to play us.
-
Outstanding.
-
Thought Westbrooke operated that roll superbly. The whole team are in fantastic form and even the subs looked hungry to add to the scoreline. Today deserved a full stadium.
-
It’s ticking up a bit. Home crowd was around 6,800 today. That’s getting on for 1000 extra home supporters compared to most of season.
-
I am absolutely buzzing.
I can’t say any more as I am exhausted just watching this team play.
Kicking every ball from my seat. It’s exhilarating .
For every result to go 100% our way is unreal.
Is this really going to happen, it is now looking as though it actually is.
-
Todays performance …….. emphatic.
Crowd were amazing too.
-
Brilliant performance - we totally outplayed Stanley and 4-0 was certainly not flattering.
We were absolutely fantastic to watch today.
-
Football was proper today
-
I wonder if I'm the only one who thought that we weren't at it for a lot of that game.
We didn't seem to play with the intensity and pace we have in the last few games but we still got a job done.
-
Loved that performance today, great to watch.

Up to scoring the 1st goal maybe. After that we were a master class. We could easily have won 8-0 today.
-
The football was great today. We punched through their back line with ease all game and could have had 6 or 7 if we were more clinical.
-

Yep, you’re the only one!
-
The performance of a side that was freewheeling towards a title.
Professional but nowhere near top gear.

Not taking anything away from our performance but we didn’t have to be intense to beat them. They were shocking.
-
Fantastic performance. Loved every minute!!
The stars are aligning!!
-
I'm just back.
Travelling home from Sutton was just the worst; today it was like I floated back.
What a complete performance - front to back. Everyone was on it. Bewildering at times.
Down to just one point. As my son said at 3-0; the chase is now over - it's a shoot out.
I'm not calming down now.
-
Great performance. Just so comfortable.
-
Glad that some of the players were able to come of early today and that we have a week before the next game.... Barrow have a 5 and a half hour trip to Crawley on Tuesday, before we welcome them on Saturday.... and they will be without their centre back also after this ...

Horrific foul.
Amazing how some Barrow players are trying to stop the ref sending Ray off.
-
Today felt like a side that had won the title putting on an end of season show.
By ten minutes in you could see the Accrington players looking dejected and defeated.
Never known a turnaround like this in such a short space of time.

We had an aura today that reminded me of Penney's title winners, where we'd just cruise past teams without getting out of third gear. We look so well organised at the minute.

This exactly.
But we are playing Moore's style of football.
The change in performances and results came when we suddenly changed to the style of playing the ball in our own box, drawing opponents out of position and then striking forwards rapidly.
Prior to that, we'd been fannying about in midfield with no-one making runs, and getting screwed by aggressive presses. The change of style has been at least as important as the new signings.

What a joy to watch. Nicked the ball back so many times. Every player worked hard when not in possession as if instructed to get the ball back within 6 seconds of losing it. Loads of movement when we had the ball which made some of the inter passing quick, fluid and precise (Maxwell’s goal). Also using that pinpoint go long ball, Olowu doing this week’s Glenn Hoddle impression for Haks’ goal.
Such a great mixture
Thank you GM and CB

I think the football is drastically different to Moore’s.
We play it out at the back but it’s one particular pattern of play, which is get it to Maxwell as quickly as possible and then Maxwell play it into midfield as quickly as possible.
If this play isn’t on then we lump it up to Ironside.
We get the ball forward miles quicker than we did under Moore, our keeper and centre halves used to have more touches than any other player, that isn’t the case now.
We are a team that leaves players up the park and we get the ball to them as quickly as possible

TLT is instrumental in this , I wouldn't trust Lawlor or Jones to do what he does
-
McCann has demonstrated again that he can recruit well but it’s fairly reasonable that four out of the regular XI that has done so well the last few months, won’t be here next season (TLT, Craig, Adelakun and Molyneux). This could be wrong but it’s not a wild scenario. McCann will need to recruit well again this summer if we lose them this summer.

Regarding the style of play. We make less passes than we did prior to Christmas abs we are more direct. The runs we make in behind are killing teams. Well, it’s not the runs in behind or the passes on behind that’s the key. It’s the joined up thinking and the players with the ball and the players off the ball all knowing what the objective is at any given moment.
Haks goal yesterday, he made that run in behind, Joe delayed the pass, he got back inside and then made the run again.
-
He nearly scored again from another worldy pass by Sterry, apparently it's something they've been working on in training. I must say Haks does seem to have great game awareness and is prepared to gamble on his teammates finding him in space.

Speed of thought, better football “nous” and consistency of performance distinguish between players of the same technical abilities and skills.
Greater awareness and joined up thinking on the pitch is difficult to measure statistically I guess, but you can definitely see it on the pitch..
It’s why the same set of players who have underperformed as a collective can be so much better once that understanding is there. Maybe a confidence thing as well as the catalyst of a few additions to the squad.

How much have our stats improved Gaz as you have a very in depth view on these things for your job?
-
What I noticed in the 94th minute was that we must have had 6/7 players all pressing round their box.
We are absolutely relentless. Roll on Wembley.

I seem to remember that when TLT was being (pre)judged that some data expert on here informed us that Jones's distribution was better than TLT's. Data has its limitations.
We just cannot go into 24/25 relying on Jones and Lawlor.
-
Once the first goal went in we were in total control of play everywhere on the pitch.
The good individual performances came about because of the dominance of the ‘whole’ performance.
This was not a ‘Darren Moore’s’ team style, it was 100% a Grant McCaan’s team style. On the front foot, pressing the opposition when in transition, defending from the front (Joe Ironside will not give up possession of that ball!), intelligent movement off the ball, players aware of one another’s movements, running into spaces because players were anticipating ‘the pass’, tireless running & pressing that had Accy chasing shadows. A consummate performance that could well have had a win by a margin of another two or three goals.
I keep banging on about this & I know there are those who hang their hats on stats but, stats didn’t ‘create’ that performance yesterday the players via the manager & his team did.
Rest, recuperation, then practise, practise, practise.
I forecast much of the same again against Barrow come Saturday i.e., a convincing victory.
Then let the cards lay where they will.
-
The only resemblance to the style that Moore wanted us to play is that we played out from the back.
Moore had us aimlessly passing across the back four, then again and then again (keep repeating).
The current team does it with a purpose and much more quickly and with a desire to get the ball to Craig or if the pass is on, getting it up to the front three.

I seem to have managed to insert my post into andyst79’s! I blame my phone, so I’m back on the iPad. Mine starts “I seem to remember…”

Wonderful to re-live yesterday’s performance by watching back those brief highlights a few times.
What strikes me so strongly is the understanding between the players in the build-up to all four goals. They really know their jobs and they clearly have an excellent appreciation of each other - a true team display.
What also stands out to me is the utter composure, confidence and almost nonchalance of Adelakun which is evident in his goal and his assist for Joe.
Just watch those moments again.
This man has a truly natural talent which he is being allowed to revel in with Rovers.
I read some comments on the Lincoln forum last night where their fans are wondering about how and why Haks is showing such “scintillating” form during his loan spell with the Rovers.
I dearly hope that Haks knows this and takes the decision to stay where he is appreciated and where he is excelling.
