Poland and Hungary not happy bunnies
-
Selby loves context.
-
Poland and Hungary are both pushing the boundary of what you would call functioning democracies, given the constitutional changes that they have implemented over the past few years. This showdown was inevitable at some point. The EU is no place for autocrats like Orban. It is vital that the EU doesn't brush over this issue. Both countries need reading the riot act. If they are not prepared to act according to normal democratic processes, they have no role in the EU.
-
Not good news for us I would think.
If they are refusing to ratify a budget in which they are net beneficiaries just to play silly b****ers, just to spite the larger countries, then they are hardly likely to ratify a trade deal, should one be agreed, from which they won't particualry benefit but the larger countries will.
Better get that trade deal agreed pretty quickly so the others have time to put pressue on them. Any news on the German Car Industry, Selby?

It is vital Billy , there's only room for one autocrat in europe who ignore normal democratic processes .

Yes Wilts, it is under threat of thousands of redundancies.

If its that bad when are they going to force the EU to make a trade deal?

They'll know how the workers at Rover felt after it went under after being asset stripped by BMW.
-
AL what about the directors that kept on milking it for some years after the BMW sale?
They didn't care overmuch about their employees.

That would be the collapse of MG Rover, Kevin Howe and three others made Millions out of it, I think theywere banned from becoming directors ever again

That's capitalism for you. Making money out of other people's misery

I think that they were about four years later.
I actually thought that the later MG ones looked half decent and the big 75 was it called got very good reviews.
I remember catching the end of top gear just after they went under. Clarkson and co were talking about spares and James May I think it was asked about if you had a Rover. Clarkson's reply was something like " Well you're f****d". He certainly used those last two words.
I thought, what a prat. People that have tried to be patriotic and bought one are just the butt of his joke. I didn't like him before but that put the tin hat on it for me, the arrogant, pompous prat.

Clarkson once made an entire TV programme taking the piss out of Rovers.
-
The team did help him though BB. I was abroad when the game was played so missed it fortunately .

UK police and law enforcement will lose access to key EU databases even if a security deal is struck before Brexit, officials have confirmed

And it's going to be the Free Trade deal that we were promised that the German car industry will force there to be?

IS this part of the cunning plan selby?

It's OK, Sydney. The German car industry is going to save us from No Deal, early next week. Selby has promised us that.

Aye, whilst the rest of the world gets on with co-operating with one another in 21st century policing, our government has decided we dont' need access to collaborative databases or criminals and instead are going back to Dixon of Dock Green methods.
After Brexit we can keep EU criminals out of the UK - except we have lost the ability to recognise who they are!

The police are useless in any case. Not fit for purpose. House burgled-too busy, car getting nicked-can't help without cctv, next door neighbour stood in your garden-send round the SPG.

Very disrespectful AL.
Do you have any idea what the Police have to deal with every day?

Theresa May as Home Secretary panned the police about their numbers.
Boris then tells how he wants to recruit more officers having a need to replace the thousands that were cut. You lose thousands of experienced officers and then have to train thousands more,a sensible policy?

Where were they? You promised!
