Friday Afternoon's key fixtures (April 14th, 2017)
« on April 13, 2017, 01:40:24 am by les@donr »
Now we are promoted! The only key fixtures that matter regarding the destination of the title are as follows:

Colchester vs Doncaster

Portsmouth vs Plymouth

IMHO we will win, the other game will be a draw. Be nice if Pompey win though.

2 draws IMHO - Colchester in good form and desperate to win to stay in the hunt for promotion so a tough game for us. Pompey in great form and Plymouth good away form both scrapping for automatic and a draw suits both to keep clear of the pack - nailed on draw! (And great for us too!).

I'll be happy with a draw at Colchester. Tough assignment. Anything but a Plymouth win in the other would be good.

We'll either have a free flowing game with bags of goals or it'll be a tight game as they'll shit themselves at the prospect of blowing up late on.

Our confidence is sky high after promotion. It will be a tough game, nothing bad about that. I think we can nick a win. 1-2 Rovers!

I think we can have a good win.  They'll come at us as they need the points so they won't be as tough to break down.

Agree, an open game suits our style of football.

Just off to catch Travel Club coach to Colchester.
Come on the boys 3 points today would be massive as I can see Portsmouth beating Plymouth.
A nine point lead would seal it on Monday if we beat Blackpool, with our goal difference so superior.
A draw today would not be a bad result though as this will be no easy game. Colchester are strong at home, scoring lots of goals and are fighting hard for a play off place.
Come on the lads, we can do it.  :woohoo: :rtid: :woohoo:

It's potentially a tough game for us today but it's definitely a tough game for Colchester! We're probably the last team that they want to play at this point of the season. I don't usually take much notice of the league table outside of how we're doing, but having checked it out it looks like there's 10 or 11 teams that are fighting for the four play off places. I didn't realise how tight it is.

Colchester will have to come at us - not sit back - to keep alive their chances of a play off slot. That will suit us totally as it will mean we can play our normal game. It will be tight and I would not be surprised if their manager tinkers with their tactics today to try and combat our high pace pressing game and our obvious threat going forward.I also feel a bit of a 'revenge' for last year might come into it but as always DF will have us prepared and set up to get the job done. Honestly believe we will come away with the win but would not be surprised if it ends all square. :clapping: :rtid:

Happy with a point especially as Plymouth managed a jammy draw.

One more game chalked off. Roll on Monday!

A point is a good result with Pompey and Plymouth only drawing. No ground lost and the finale is edging closer and closer.
