Fresh injuries

Griffiths and Barlow injured... Again.

How is the club so bad at managing injuries. Its a massive issue at the minute. There is a very clear problem. Needs to be resolved quickly.

My sense is that we have consistently had more injuries, way more than the average, for a decade or so. Could well be that I'm not following events in other clubs. I wonder if anyone has seen some stats on this? I'd be surprised if no one in the footy world has ever tried to look at this.

I agree... Feels like the only time I remember in the last however many years of us having a fit squad was during the Mal Purchase days.

I think Mal Purchase was one of the best members of our club in the past two decades at least. Sounds like he kicked ass in the most effective way.

I sometimes wonder if the club just announces players are injured as a more dignified way of saying they're dropped.

At least Lee Tomlin’s departure freed up a bed in the treatment room.

Or is it that some players have a very low pain threshold? Was it Klopp who said that Sturridge had a problem with injuries because of his low threshold?

When was Tomlin injured / unavailable, like?

I think it was also down to Dean Saunders. I remember him saying players who thought they were injured should be told to "run it off, run it off". Proper old school.

Could it get to a point that future players turn us down on the basis of how many of our previous players have been left to go stale in the treatment room?

I don't think id fancy joining a team where I might end up injured and watch my career go down the toilet.

Accept it, its a fact of life in football that teams at our level have to make do with these types of players, admit it, if Griffiths had been any good do we seriously think he would of still ended up here?

We have players on the books today that if they were not so injury prone would of been playing at higher level clubs.

I doubt that, it’s a choice of contract or no contract.

Griffiths has looked ungainly from day 1. He can't jump to win a header, he is very slow off of the mark. He reminds me of the big boy in the age group, so was always dominant, and has not progressed.
