John Oster

A bit of an odd game today but Oster was pulling all the strings. This guy has really put a shift in over the last three games and has clearly been given extra responsibility by SOD this season. Reminds me of Stock in his prime, the way he dictates play from just in front of defence. Keep it up John!

SOD seems to have given him a new role at the bottom of the midfield when we have possession. Helpfully this takes possession away from Woods, George and Naylor. Played same against Brighton. One thing we have done in last three games is keep possession much better (70% against Tranmere and we must have had 50%+ today) and Oster has been absolutely key to this.

I am not related to John Oster by the way. And am definitely not John Oster typing this on a train back to Newcastle. Honest.

They barely had a shot on goal other than the goal! Friend and Naylor shut them out. Oh well, opinions like arseholes on days like today...

Nolan effort hit the bar, Cole put one in side netting. Genuinely can't think of another decent effort they had. Cole is an England striker and Naylor had him in his pocket. Not rubbish, just fact.

He has a lot of possession in areas that don't Hirt the opposition tho. We need him to have the ball in and around the opposition box as he is very creative.

Oster played well. Was certainly the voice in midfield keeping the tempo up second half.

Oster's play on Satdi was a vast improvement on the way he played against Brighton
