Will be interesting to see how the club approach this. I've always struggled to make midweek games. As I've got sky there's a good chance I'll move away from a season ticket.

I have to be honest more football on TV isn't a good thing for me.

I can just see it now, its going to be our luck is it not to get these on the opening day next season, will probably be our only match on tv next season if our current malaise continues.

Just as eggs are eggs, Rovers fixtures are already scheduled thus;

1st game of season - Wrexham away (live on Sky)

1st round of fa cup - away to some non-league setup in wiltshire (place that time forgot)

Boxing Day - away to Barrow

Last day of season - home to Forest Green (live on Sky - relegation special)

Looks to me as though we are going to see more and more games spread over the weekend from Friday Night to Monday Night .

I reckon even Sunday Night might be on the cards too .

The traditional Saturday Afternoon 3pm KO will become a novelty in my opinion .

Who pays the piper calls the tune .

Oh aye

Hoping the new years day fixture is at home. It's the one fixture where me and the young un will go after a roast beef dinner, have a couple of drinks (pop for her) and then home for a nice evening, all without nagging from the missus. Don't know why but she doesn't seem to mind the new years day fixture.
Was better this year with actually seeing a decent performance against Carlisle

One for Dutch Uncle
How many times in the last 20 (or more!) have we been at home on Boxing Day?
And i certainly do not include v Sunderland a couple of years ago when Sky (t**ts) shifted it to the 27th!!!

I think a lot of the games will be by the red button ie all mid week games so all fixtures will be covered just hope they do replays

They have said 27/36 football league games will remain Saturday 3:00 kick offs. Be interesting how they will schedule the 9 live tv games each weekend.

I would guess in last 20 yrs so since our return to the league in 2003/04 it would be 8 out of 20
Not checked so that’s a guess.
I think 8 is maximum could be 6 or 7 possibly. We certainly haven’t had our 50% we should be getting.

It certainly used to feel like we were almost always away on Boxing Day but more recently that hasn’t been the case. In the last 10 years we’ve played at home 4 times on Boxing Day and away 4 times, but both others were technically home games - a postponement against Accrington in 2020 and the game on the 27th in 2021. So has definitely swung back in our favour more recently.
