Another away game, like Peterborough and Walsall against a team in the top half and on a good run of results, so we can expect to be in for a right old battle if we are to come away with any points from the game.
I would expect Whiteman to step straight back into the side at the expense of Anderson, and injury allowing no other changes to the starting eleven.
In Kee they have a good striker, and at Walsall their goalkeeper had a blinder to keep them in the game, with the defence being resolute wile put under a lot of pressure, a sign of keeping a good shape, and team work.
So can we keep our run of victories going?
Would you make any changes?
Are you going to the game?
Can John Marquis keep his scoring run going?
Will our defenders be able to keep Kee under wraps?
Lots to discuss, please have your say.
-
I think Kee scored from the spot at Walsall, so no goals from open play in that game. Their keeper had a blinder from the bits shown on the highlights, so the back 4 is breachable and JM is on one of his runs, so anything could happen. I think this maybe a game that is won and lost in the midfield, so it's to be hoped that our best 3 are available.
We gave Walsall a right battering, but it doesn't naturally follow that we should therefore beat Accrington. I'd take a draw now, if I'm honest! That, at least, would keep our unbeaten run going and then we can look forwards to a few home games coming up, including a big one against a team from somewhere up in the NE!
-
Without wishing to start sounding like DD I have been wondering whether our high tempo/pressing game is best suited to one game a week (as the last 4 wins suggest) - so I predict a defeat on Tuesday.
-
These are games that can determine if we're title contenders or play offs. Even though it's relatively early in the season, we want to be negotiating this tricky fixture. We shouldn't fear it and with Whiteman back we should be at full strength but can't take our foot off the gas.
Go and get another 3 points!
-
We are not going to win every game, but being in 3rd place after ten games is outstanding, and other teams must be looking at us with some trepidation..
It won’t be the end of the world if we don’t win this one, we just need to be competing..
-
GM says he wants to be top of the league at the end of the week so he is clearly targetting 2 wins out of 2.
-
Five home games in league this season. Only won one of them (2-1 vs Wimbledon). Lost one, drew three of them 1-1.
This will be a draw.
-

Well you'd hope he was targeting to win every game really.
-
Yes I am going and yes we will win, Hows that for optimism?
-
Yes going to this one. Meeting my lad who is at Liverpool Uni. He will probably bring across his house mates. The last time he did this it was the turgid affair at Oldham. Hopefully this game might convince them that Donny are their second team.
-
Can’t believe some of the predictions here...if GM says we will be top by the end of the week you all owe him that expectation, I know I do....he bollocked the lads at Plymouth and they responded, so I can only assume they either react well to bollockings, or fear another one...
0-3
Marquis 2
Copps 1
Accrington know we are coming, I can feel their collective heartbeats pounding with fear and dread...
Those of you unable to hear the clarion call should wash ya ears out and stop disbelieving the man in charge...he has put his cards on the table, and I applaud that strength of character in anyone....
-
I can see Crawford or May coming in for Copps and Whiteman coming in at least on the bench, Anderson had the shirt in a win so theres an argument he should keep it.

Just a mistyped comma, that asterisk is meant for Mandeville.

So why isn't there one next to Garrett?
-
Obviously he missed that one?
-
We still own Garrett. He is on season long loan to AFC Wimbledon. At end of this season his contract with us expires.
-
Aye but we still own Mandeville and he's got a star too.
-
I think it will be 1-1.
-
Looks like it's on radio shitfield.
Not because it's our turn, but because we're the only team playing away.
-
I would happily take a point on this one..It's a very tough game and it would keep the unbeaten run going..No reason we cant win it the way we are playing but you cant win them all..

I thought that they were all representing Canals - well theres Blair and Calder but then I realised they were the Canal - and most of the others are either banal or Anal ?
-
Alimentary Canal

I see 2 changes for Tuesday Copps and Johnson on the bench, Whiteman and Crawford in
-
Who is Johnson?

It will be a tough game this. John Coleman is an excellent Manager who has worked wonders for Stanley, and he knows what to expect from us.
They will do all they can to try and stop Marquis - and every opposing manager will be doing the same for the rest of the season. Coleman speaks highly of Marquis in today's Lancashire Telegraph, which is no surprise!
Mallik Wilks played 21 games on loan for Stanley last season but only scored 3 goals I think.
And of course they have our former 'keeper Jonny Maxted, although he's back-up for the first-choice goalie.
I'm looking forward to this one, and it's nearer than a home game for me which is a bonus! I've got a bit of a soft spot for Stanley - my old mate was a season ticket holder before sadly passing away 2 years ago. It's good to see a small club punching above their weight.

I may be totally wrong here, but I could have sworn I saw Mason warming up that day.
-
Steve, I thought Mason played that day, and ended up playing in more than one position, left back and central defender?
He was a secret signing with Houghton, and had trained with us all the week before without an announcement. It was said big things were expected of him.
Etheridge let a long shot go in after Houghton failed to close down a player, Calder failed to track back for another of their goals after losing the ball out wide, just letting their player run away from him, and Williams missed a penalty I think.

Wolfie, I am sure you would have seen it, but can you remember when the letter C fell off the Canal Tavern sign and was left that way for months on end.
It always made me chuckle when I drove over the bridge.
-
Bet they did a lot of business in that period...

Refs for Tuesday game.
PETER WRIGHT
Graeme Fyvie and Richard Bartlett
Fourth Official: Gary Hilton
Peter has gave a few red cards so far this season, and most of them was back to back games,

...yes I used to laugh too but always thought it would be good to put it back and taking away the T instead - so it would read Anal Cavern . I really must get out more - oh wait im off to Accie Stanley tonight COYR

Better make that Anderson then😶

that wasn’t the team. Mason started on the left of the back 3. Blair started as a right wing back. Calder started as left wing back.

Quickest way over tonight? I ask as I know the M62 can be a bas**rd at that time of night.

You're right mate; it's all coming back to me now, Joe Wright was on the subs bench, and Mason and Calder definitely started.

Everything in that post is dead accurate Brian. It's nice for us to agree for a change.
-
1-0 a fair result as we were just not up to the task of playing against thugs and weak refereeing. Marosi did his usual man of match performance and Marquis had a quiet game . We tried and tried but just could not get up to speed. Start another winning run from
Saturday.
-
I’d agree the score was about right but thought it was more to do with the pitch rather than “thugish” behaviour. Thought we played ok in patches without really testing their keeper. Too many of our players had a day to forget tbh but i saw glimpses of what we’re capable of. Accrington were average, no better.
-
Can't win them all. It's a chance missed but it's a tough game there and they have good momentum and some good players. Their manager has done a great job.
Key for us is improving on the weaknesses and putting in a good performance and result on Saturday in another big game.

They weren’t thugs. They were a good, hard working side that got their reward in the end. They will beat a lot of teams at home this season. The only thing that annoyed me was when the lad pretended John had stamped/ kicked him, when he clearly didn’t. John then proceeded to grab one of their players knackers.
-
If and if the free kick had gone in and not hit the post I'm sure we would of won and maybe scored again
-
I agree with Gaz, they looked a good side, and the game was a decent game that they shaded.
The penalty shout looked like some that are given, and I was told the ref looked long and hard at the lino, with his whistle at the ready.
The substitutions seemed to upset our rhythm, and Coppinger going off was a bad move, "Tayles" contributing absolutely nothing, perhaps we should start with him, and hook him after 8 to ten minutes to get Coppinger on for when it matters, and before "Tayles" tires.
We probably lost the game trying to win it, leaving one on one at that stage of the match, others would have taken what they had.
-
The referee put the whistle to his lips then seemed to totally change his mind. Baffling.

I thought he was going to pull play up for a dive, then let them play on.

Coppinger was poor last night. Taylor didn’t do a lot but he did nothing wrong, and he made one very good run bursting out of the right back position. The whole team was disjointed yesterday, it’s pretty pathetic to call a sub who had limited time to make an impact out when there was much worse out there last night.
-

The body language DID suggest he was going to do something. I thought great "Penalty" and then he made a weird gesture and did a weird turn and just carried on like those watchung would not notice. Bizarre
-
Just seen their goal and most un Butler like to let the player get through him. There would normally be only one winner.
From the highlights and reports it seemed an even game which could have gone either way. Nothing to worry about.
-
Nick he was looking for the spectacular, and is not up to it, when he got the ball he tried to do it himself.
We were worse when the subs came on, in a period when we were pushing for a winner, and were probably getting on top.

Nick, you know what it's like with Selby; he won't see anything good in May and Taylor; and yet he thinks Mandeville and McCullough are world beaters who should never have been loaned out, which is an astonishing lack of confidence in GM's judgement.

It was a Gamw which in truth could have been a win for us if we had taken chances / had a bit of luck. Matty Blair let one go and they got a deflection that took it maybe an inch wide. Hard to tell from the side but it looked like it was spinning inwards but missed. The Ref also looked like he was going to give us a Pen but changed his mind
They hit the Post and Bar in the same attack - and of course they scored later on. I was sat opposite where their bloke headed it on but I am not convinced it was not out as he headed it - and then Butler unfortunately got done (as you say does not happen often) BUT and again I could be miles out the Scorer looked to control the Ball with his upper arm just before shooting
That said if that chance did not go in it almost certainly have ended Goalless and that would maybe have been the fairest result
