I gave him one mark for turning up.
He let far too much go unpunished. A yellow card earlier might have made
the game a bit better and got it flowing more.

Card shy but got the added on Fergie time correct, especially with their slow sub after they scored.

Was another ref who didn't want to card anyone but at least he got the added on time spot on.

Strange how he warned there number 6 but then he fouled ten mins later and he did nothing

Thing is, with the weather and conditions that bad, the surface was getting unpredictable. If he hadn't have started getting the yellows out in that second half someone could've got seriously injured...

... A point I made the other week and Keshi's did his ankle in. Although I'm not sure that any form of tackle was involved in that instance. But still, refs should be taking the playing surface into consideration and if it means booking someone to calm the challenges, and saves a broken bone, then do it.

Crewes foul count must have been huge, the ref failed to clamp down on them

I don't think that most challenges were dangerous they were just cynical and too frequent. Their number 6 would have been booked by a lot of refs as he seemed to want to run the game. He constantly moaned at the Lino and questioned every decision. A yellow might have calmed him down a bit. Their number 29 ought to have been booked far earlier and under the totting up gone off before the end.

A 3 from me. Allowed too many tactical fouls, but credit to him for dealing with Crewe's time wasting.

Some refs would have handed out a yellow or two for Crewe's excessive celebrations but not added on any time. I preferred the way he handled it.
