form table
« on January 21, 2018, 09:25:20 pm by bobjimwilly »
just looked at our form over the last 6 games and only 2 teams above us, Gillingham (11th) and Rotherham (7th) are above us in form table!  We are equal with Wigan and Blackburn, and have had better form than all 4 teams in play-off places!

Shame we let them get away from us at the start of the season, suppose we had to let them get a head start don’t want to make it easy for ourselves

Bodes well for next season though.  If we can take the form through to the end of season it makes us very attractive to players this summer.

If we can take this form to the end of the season we'll be edging the play off spots - 72 pts got there twice in the last ten seasons.

That is expecting plenty Bristol.
We would need to average two points a game to get to 72 and the team in sixth place currently has a ten point start on us.

I am not saying it can’t happen of course, just in case anyone suggests I am being negative but of course it wouldn’t just be down to what we do.

I don't expect it at all, I was more suggesting it won't happen. But it would mean our squad had developed well, and a bit of play off flirting would be fun. So long as we don't get promoted  :s

If we get to the end of February and we aren't looking backwards I'll be pleased.

Between end of Jan and April we'll see form trends change and will give more of an indication what direction teams are going in. Much can change.

Our current form really depends how we react to Butler's injury lay-off. If we fail to protect ourselves then we could fall away and drop nearer the danger zone, on the other hand if we bring in one or two re-inforcements, we could threaten the top 6.

Andy has been our bedrock until now, so it's a massive blow to the squad and it will take something special in the loan market to give us the balance back. I think Alcock can no longer be relied on, unfortunately, so if he plays tonight we could be in trouble (you're only as good as your weakest player).

TBH if he's going with a back three tonight I'd stick Mason in there. Blair and Garratt as wing backs.

I just hope he stops playing Blair at right back. He's done a job but he's pretty much wasted there, and he isn't an out and out defender and never will be.

For me, if we play the diamond Blair should always be on the right of it. If we play with a back three, he's the nearest thing we've got to a wing back.

Aye, right wing back. But not as a conventional right back as part of a back four.
