A few changes in today’s team and not a lot on the bench which looks quite youthful

No BW?

Correct. Love it if we could get some of the youngsters on off the bench...

cool, a good chance for sheaf to control the play just behind the midfield.. also, I like Gomez as well, hopefully he takes his chance :-)
-
Glad to see Danny Amos given a start , now's the time for him to take his chance and claim a regular spot.
-
Good morning everyone. The FA Cup and prize money for the club, let's go as far as we can. Wimbledon won't be an easy game, but at our best we should win it.
-
think AFC have a pub side out today with "Guinness-Walker" on the bench
-
Interesting one this
A good win would be very reassuring.
-
Tough game and the absentee list is now massive.

i hear so much about him being a good crosser of a ball let's see what he can put on Thomas's head

I think they have more injuries than us , for once.

Whether his defending is good enough is the question today we could find out

How we doing?
-
BBC stats showing just one shot by them and none by us so far.
We have 55% possession.

28' CHANCE. Kwame Thomas forced a superb from Nathan Trott as he headed on goal from close range. 0-0 #WIMDON #DRFC
-
30' Sadlier tries his luck from distance but it's an easy enough save for the Wimbledon keeper. 0-0 #WIMDON #DRFC

If you believe the stats we seem to be losing some momentum...
-
Judging from the lack of comments on here, nothing much seems to be happening.
-
So three chances Taylor missed goal. Thomas heads at Keeper great cross from Danny Amos and Sadlier hits it straight at keeper

No, Piggot I think.

I love quotes like this. On what basis should we win it. You have to earn the win, its not won on paper ergo we are 1-0 down and not playing great at all
-
Sounds like we switched off at the worst moment, just before the break. Three good chances go begging especially Thomas and now we've got an uphill task.
-
Would you describe a one goal deficit with half a game to go as an uphill task.?
-
So we have most possession most shots on goal yet they score typical of the front four we have must be improved but with players injured then we can’t do it.
-

I think most people would.

Totally agree mate. Piggot and Appiah have always given us trouble; and Wordsworth, Pinnock, and Wagstaffe are all decent players.
We've not lost yet, but people shouldn't count their chickens.

Really.?? Two down maybe, but at one nil anything can happen..
Are we really that pessimistic.?

Away to AFC Wimbledon, yes it may well be,they are a bit of a bogey team for us at their ground, having said that, hope we can buck the trend in the second half. :scarf:
-
I'll take a draw , we need to be in the hat on Monday.

funny that all the teams in this league beginning with the letter "A" seem to be at their ground !! as in Accrington
-
As if we needed reminding - we are short of a clinical striker. Can it be underlined any more before we get to January?
Players missing from the back four and their goal described as us switching off? Is there any wonder?
-
:scarf: Come on you Reds....:scarf:

Yes, we kicked downhill first half!
-
I'll take a draw , we need to be in the hat on Monday.
Worse possible scenario. Our backlog of fixtures is becoming horrendous, and is seriously threatening to derail our push for the top 6.

seem to remember being 1-0 down at Chorley last season.

But we have no match for 2 weeks, so a replay Tuesday week might not be a bad thing

seem to remember being 1-0 down at Chorley last season.
And 2-0 down to Ebbsfleet the season before
-
Ipswich 1-0 down at home, they have definitely lost then. Of course not, neither have Rovers, every chance in the second half, Rovers playing the better football in the first.

Next goal is the key you.would think. Perhaps alfie may time?
-
53' CLOSE. James Coppinger shoots just wide after an excellent ball by Sheaf put him through on goal. 1-0
-
Do any of the front four know how to score and hit the goal would help. Copps shooting wide Taylor shooting wide.

Of course they know.!

I take your point Dutch, but Tranmere are losing at the moment, and Shrewsbury are drawing. That's worth a thought.

I think DU is talking about a cup replay match Steve.
Anyway, the Tuesday week is still classed as International break so we couldn't play Shrewsbury.

No it doesn’t and I’m glad we’ve scored but the point I’m making we need better goal scorers in the front four although our leading goal scorers are there.

Goal! AFC Wimbledon 1, Doncaster Rovers 1. Tom Anderson (Doncaster Rovers) header from very close range to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Danny Amos with a cross following a corner.
same again please

Yes I know Hound, which is exactly what I meant. We need that spot free, just in case.
However, Tranmere have equalised now, and I take your point about Shrewsbury.

Well at least I know what I am doing on Tuesday 19th night time.

Considering we ain't got a home game for nearly a month, plus the shrews game postponed, maybe a replay ain't the end of the world. Some action for the home fans, plus some actual minutes into the players legs in that 2 week break that we were looking at....
-
Having gone 1 nil down, getting it back to 1-1 and a replay is not a bad thing. Pity I’ll miss the replay!

Are we really that pessimistic.?
It’s not pessimism at all - going a goal down changes the complexion of the game and makes it a lot harder to get anything out of the game ergo an uphill battle. Doesn’t mean the game’s over by any means, just more difficult.
-
If we hadn’t have equalised, say after 60-65 mins and then they score a second or we have a red card, then that would become an uphill struggle..
1-0 down at half time whilst we’re well in the game, anything can happen..
