This will easily be the best thing you will read all day/week/month/year...

So many wonderful memories...
-
Excellent.
-
Great Read. :clapping: :scarf:
-
Brilliant!
That could be aimed at the top 6 clubs in the PL
-
Recognition from Donny of the South . Well done Glen, a brilliant piece !
-
Great read. Memories aplenty and hats off to the Quentin Tarantino crimestoppers lookalike comment. Absolute quality.
-
Brilliant article ... is there somewhere to Archive it on here so it can be accessed for posterity - or can I find it already somewhere else ?
-
Can anyone show it on here for non tweeters.
-
It must be an age thing hound. I don't do Twitter either.
It's bad enough doing the occasional foray onto Facebook.

Facebook and Twitter are incomparable.
-
Well I can't compare them cos I only do one and that's a pain at times.😉
-
If you've managed to set up a profile on here it won't be too tricky to do one on twitter. It's worth it for this series of tweet alone.
-
Excellent as always

Should just work if you click the Link ?
Its here again - just try it. I am not sure if it works for me because I am on Twitter but I suspect it will just work for you

Someone commented that it should be a Netflix series. I'd actually watch that and not just because its my club.

I bet Netflix would say it was too far fetched to be believed.

Well wolfie, you certainly have the magic touch mate.
On the OP when I clicked on the link it only showed the picture of the red gates and the words that are with it.
I couldn’t see anything else after that, but......clicking on your link opens the lot up.
Thanks a bunch........I will go and read through it now.......
By the way idler, I don’t do Facebook either.

Glen, if you’re reading, that is genius.
I’ve just one anecdote to add.
You know how they say the darkest hour is just before dawn? July 1998. Friendly at Worksop. The night Ryan and Snod were in the crowd and the takeover was rumoured to be imminent.
I’m having a pre-match pint in the clubhouse when the Rovers players turn up in the car park. In their own cars. Lee Warren gets out of his car with a junior player with him. Goes to the back to open the boot. Looks inside then turns to the kid and says: “Where’s the f**king kit bag? I told you to put the f**king kit bag in the f**king boot!”
That to me was the absolute nadir. That was where the club of Doherty and Jeffrey and Kitchen and Bremner and Snodin has ended up.

What a fantastic piece so many memories
-
Excellent piece Sir!
-
Brilliant piece of work.
Would be good if we got some gooners responding.

That'd be a great scene for the Netflix series!
But yes, I'll echo that it was a great posting by VivaRovers and that Twitter is lightyears ahead of Facebook in terms of user accessibility, quality and layout.

Barnstoneworth United on Ripping Yarns on the yesterday channel.
A bit like that a Rovers season.
-
Brilliant.
-
Esdaille brothers.
Darren Brookes.
Jim Dobbin.
-
Cheers all.
It's gone a bit nuts this, Twitter is telling me the fanzine's tweets have had 6,838,865 impressions in the last 24 hours. Just hoping one of the 600 odd new followers we've gained is partial to a pin badge.
-
Fantastic Glen. Some of those memories almost brought a tear to my eye.
-
Take a bow Glen, proves that there is life after death. I wrote to the aptly named F. A. at the time, begging for some intervention and received a patronising reply along the lines of "We are looking into any possible ways in which we could offer assistance, as are the Football League" They did FA of course.
The letter was signed by one David Davies.
We're still alive and kicking but no thanks to those who should be looking after our interests.
RTID. Rich the Rover

A piece put together with, humour, pathos, fact, sadness but ultimately love for the club you support.
If only some TV documentary crew had followed Rovers fortunes in that period, it would have made 'Another Bloody Sunday' look like a 'B side'.
Hat's off to you Glen & if you're reading this, please put 4 Bernard Glover pin badges to one side for the next time I pass you stood beneath the statue.

I think given the current scoreline, there might be demand for a sequel to that tweet 😀😀😀
