No, someone asked this on another thread. I'm reliably told his name is Bernard Glover and he was/is from Wheatley. The picture was taken in 1991 though so he'd be getting on a fair bit now

He never missed a game stood by the wall on the main stand terraces at BV.
Never had that hat off his head either.

This seems as good a thread as any to add this, but I mentioned before that we were thinking of getting a 'The Likes Of Doncaster' banner made for the season ahead.

There are three designs up on the popular STAND facebook page now if folk would like to take a look and let us know their thoughts.

If someone can tell me how to reduce the size of an image on here I'll add them here too.

First or third for me.

What became of the Pop Side favourite 'Parka Man' who was a perennial fixture throughout 90s and 2000s? Not seen him at Keepmoat.

viva - use the image thing as normal and then after "img" add "height=50 width=200" or whatever size you want in pixels i.e.:
[img height=50 width=200]image url{/img} but with straight brackets.

Thanks BRR, I kept trying the generic size rather width and height. Here's the three designs, though I think the third tempts fate too much so I'm only really looking at one and two, with my own preference being one.

1.

2.

3.

Number one for me also.

Couldn't agree more about number 3. It would be our very own 'Bournemouth- we want our trophy now' chants/banners you wish you'd never started.

Yes Jon, exactly... I think that's why it works better as a song to be sung whenever Rovers go ahead (comfortably) rather than on a banner or t-shirt

I welcome suggestions on other typefaces, but I'm going for boldness (easy to read from opposite end of the ground) over style

Boldness is good.

It wants a nice display font, something like Knockout Ultimate Sumo, which is something bold but a bit quirky. It's based on an old forgotten piece of type found on boxing posters.

Yeah but no 1 has additional Yorkshire dialect.

Whilst I'm sticking designs on here, here's the rough draft of the design I've come up with for our promotion commentary t-shirt. Luckily I know someone who is a designer who can tidy this up for me, but you get the idea. Depending on when he's free to do it we could have these on sale within a week or so.

I like that, Glen, but to me thats a T-Shirt back detail.

I'd have a picture of Copps slotting home on the front.

That would make a phenomenal t-shirt.  I'd have half a dozen of those.

I'd have the picture of the team with the banner they had on the front of the shirt if this was going on the back. Just personal opinion, if that would be possible.

Valid points, but I think you're both over-estimating my design skills, and under-estimating copyright issues

I'm sure the club must have a photo they could donate to you, Glen.  Steve Uttley must take thousands every match.  I'm sure Shaun told me ages ago the club have an extensive image library.

Number 1 for me, but instead of "Doncaster", could it be shortened to just Donny/ As has been mentioned in another thread, most of the country know us as just Donny, including the media and for me, "Now tha's playing the likes of Donny" adds  to the dialect imo.

the picture is very fitting.
sad to report that Bernard Glover died just before rovers moved from belle vue so he never saw the new ground.
as posted he never missed a home game and always stood in the same spot.
his ashes were spread in the centre circle at belle vue

Love it, still brings back goosebumps. The chap I saw in the BV Bar had gold lettering on a red T shirt looked very good
Put me down for 1 large
