Reading between the lines the proposed takeover seems virtually dead in the water.
I think John Ryan had been pinning his hopes on this deal to take the club forward and try and make the final leap towards the Premier League.
For whatever reason the other two major shareholders seem against it.
They must be otherwise it would have gone through by now.
Someone else remarked recently that John looked tired and I would imagine he is thoroughly cheesed off that his efforts to keep Tommy Spurr, and bring Billy Sharp back to the club have been thwarted.
I think we, the fans, deserve some explanations tonight and I hope we won't be fobbed off with confidentiality clauses.
That's not good enough in the current situation.
If what I've surmised above is true then I hope JR will tell us why he was in favour of the deal, and I hope the other two will explain why they are not.
I also hope the KM2 will also tell us how they see the way forward now without further investment which they seem unwilling to commit to themselves, or allow others to provide.
JR has always done his best for the club and I hope this doesn't make him unhappy enough to call it a day.
Where would be then?
Let's back him one more time tonight and hope the other two eventually see the light.

I'm all for hyperbole - but hyperbole based on an ounce of evidence.

The time it took you to type this could have been much better utilised.

That's an awful lot of supposition. On what facts have you based this theory apart from the chairman looking 'tired'?

Well, we'll all find out one way or the other in a few hours time.
I take it no-one wants any explanations or questions answered then.

We all want explanations but i think its pretty bold to say its dead. i think deepdown, we know absolutley naff all. its all very complicated and for the past few week all we have to go on is paper trash, the rumours on the forum, facebook and twitter.

I take it people want to hear it from the horse's mouth rather than another part if its anatomy.

Yes ok ... how much did the Consortium offer ? Would JR and Gavin and Dickov have remained in their current functions .which of the three major shareholders declined ?
If the current ownership  has not decided to accept the deal what were the objections ?

                      Thanks .

Until we know the outcome of the meeting today there's nothing as yet to explain or query on the subject of investment or a takeover.

If the deal fails:

Q.
Can you thank the board for beating off this tyrant and keeping the status quo.

and if the takeover is agreed;

Q.
Congratulate the board for acquiring the talent of this great business man.

That sums up the hypocrisy in football

If the deal is dead or not and JR backed the deal, then there cannot have been any tyrants, John has always had the best interests of the club. But financially realises he cannot maintain the club at this level or the next.

If the two other owners have failed to agree, then do they see the tyrants if they are there, that John does not.

Interesting but for the club and manager it could be very disappointing, told he could sign proven championship players only to find on the eve of the new season he cannot.

First we don't know that those are the only two possible outcomes.

If they do decline the offer outright or accept a takeover then I would trust them to have made that decision in the best interests of the club.

Seems most people assume that JR want's a deal done. In my opinion I think it's other way around!
JR is the only one on the board who I'd trust to handle Rovers future without any self-interest.

Steve,
When I say tyrant I mean tyrant. I have spent time finding out about the man and I am not impressed. Now that does not mean I totally dismiss him. In the life of any organisation there is a time for a hard boiled autocrat which could prove positive but believe me that line is very thin and I would prefer the old regime. I do admit that I don't know if the old regime is still on? but we will find out soon.

RD,
Thats exactly it we don't know anything of the facts/options.

The questions I posed should be viewed as tongue in cheek and not taken literally.

I think if we want to be the family fun local club then someone like JR is perfect going up and down divisions and having fun on the way! Like Yeovil or peterbourgh! If we want to hit the dizy heights of the prem and share the same futune as hull, west brom, qpr going up and down in the top two divisions then tyrants and big bussiness, descions people who use the vsc don't like are unavoidable

Without knowing what is on the table, I have to say I'm more than happy with the regime as it is. If that means missing out on some big investment and the club cutting its cloth accordingly then I really won't be disappointed.
