I have been a sky customer for 14 years, but I am thinking about going to Virgin. Use if for the usual sky sports channels, movies etc.
Any thoughts, which is cheaper??

Bt vision now has sky sports!

Virgin Media without a doubt. Alot better value.
Just don't move to a non Virgin area whilst still in your contract.
-
Anybody had that offer from Sky, of Free Mobile TV for Player, PC and iPhone etc. All for a year free of charge inclusive of all Sky sports 1,2,3,4 and SSN.
Stick with Rupert

No but I had an offer from BT earlier today.
He offered me free weekend calls (as they have done every 2/3 months for the last year) which I wearily declined explaining that I've got unlimited calls on the mobile and only use the home phone line for the internet.
He then said they'd also put a block on unsolicited sales calls to my number.
And they say Americans don't understand irony.

With Sky sports news going off free view soon does anyone know the cheapest way to get it ? Do you need an internet connection next to tour tv for bt vision ?

If your main interest is Sport, then stick with Sky. As far as I'm aware Virgin, BT etc only have 2 of the Sky Sports channels, and Sky are increasingly putting football (especially Championship games) on Sky Sports 3. EDIT - My work colleague informs me you can get all of the Sky Sports channels on Virgin, but only 2 of them in HD.
As for Sky Sports News, I'm pretty sure it counts as a news channel rather than a sports channel so the cheapest way to get it would be to get a sky package with the News mix included. Or you could just use it as an excuse to go down the pub whenever the footy is on!

I think also get ESPN included with them. Virgin will roll out all Sky's HD channels eventually.
Virgin are alot better for money IMO, their On Demand content is fantastic.

But VirginMedia have a tendancy to slide their little extras into the bill that they don't tell you about. They did it to us twice so we f**ked em off for being lying, robbin t**ts.

What extra's did they charge you? Only problem I had with them was when I came to move house. Because I was moving to a non Virgin property, I still had to pay up the remainder of my contract (about £280) and the cost of the V+ Bpx (£300). They said they didn't have anyone available to collect the box so i'd have to pay for it.
I told them to b*llocks.
I'm also cancelling BT as from next month, thank God. Possibly the worst company in terms of service I have ever encountered. Been with them 18 months, out of which i'd say 6 have been without broadband for one reason or another. I'm on my 5th one of those shitty homehubs. And the bas**rds still wont compensate me for the fcucking about i've had to do!
I'm so happy that I can now provide my own broadband!

They were slipping in an extra 5p a minute on top of calls to mobiles, extra 3p on land line calls and £5 for extra channels that we didn't know we had and didn't want or ask for. It added up to paying between £8 and £15 a month extra. We thought that we had been using the phone a bit too much until my missus had a good look at the bill.
This happened twice, they just seemed to add it on when you're not looking.
