Title: Death in the family
Post by: jucyberry on August 28, 2010, 07:42:44 pm
Being a  sad old bat whose escape is her puter, I'm devastated to report that my poor old girl seems to have passed away..

windows is corrupted aparently, it says I have to use the installation disk, something I don't have..I've had the back off, taken the battery out and replaced it, very gently hoovered it out, tried starting in safe mode, you name it I have tried it.. Thank god for Stacies lappy or I would be distraught..lol

Has any one ever had this happen, and how did you sort it if so?

And before any of you say ahh peace and quiet, remember Stacies lappy .........  :P

Have you tried turning it off and on again. Also when turning off, do it at the plug and count to 10 in your head, take a big sigh and switch on again.

cussy, I don't know if you have noticed, but I'm a girl, and in that case prefer the 'lets dismantle and get it sorted' type of action.. Unplugging and sighing is for wimps...

I'll do the on/off about 5 times.

Then I'll ring Mrs CR

Then I'll phone a geeky mate. Usually RTR.

Then I'll get aggressive and shout/swear at the machine.

Then I'll shake the mouse furiously in the hope it will wake the machine up.

Then I'll bang the machine hard on the side and also the monitor

Then I'll get the daughters lap top or use my iPhone

........take the machine to bits or even look inside. I think I would just lob it in the bin first.

Indeed Pigeon. Your skill is dismantling and as said, mine is banging hard.......although I can slow the pace down a tad and just grind for a bit.

Wouldn't the cat eat the mouse?

If the Cat ate the Mouse, then in the food chain, it would no doubt get a Dog Byte.
