Personally I would have thought that was \"saved\" rather than still in play - obviously rules are rules but how many refs would have called it wrong ? Remember the Beach ball wrong call

Why would it be \"saved\" it's only like a keeper getting a hand to a penalty kick but failing to stop it going into the goal. I would have thought the penalty is not over untill the ball is dead or it has stopped rolling

I bet he thought he had palmed it forwards and that was that - after all the kicker cannot follow up can he ?
My point though really was as with the Beach Ball incident I bet 50 % of Refs would not know whether to allow the Penalty or not - Oand I did notice the kicker himself \"convincing\" the Ref that it had gone in
