Our manager has hardly ever played 2 up front, not his style at all. You appear to advocate 4 4 2, or 3 5 2. Sod just may consider 3 5 2 at home, but never in a month of sundays will he do that away from KMS, and i cannot see him ever actually starting ANY game 4 4 2.

Agreed. It's funny cos Sean will often say in interview:

....sniff errrrr 'we switched to 4-4-2 to combat them' or sniff errrrr 'we went 4-4-2 after 20 minutes, as they sussed us out'.

I watch the games diligently and I'm not sure I've ever seen us go 4-4-2. Just shows what a demic I am and how good he is.

Didn't SO'D always play big boy Fletcher and Hayter up front together?

Where is Brooker at the moment?  There is no mention of him in any news updates or sean's pre-match thoughts.  He isn't reported as injured as far as I'm aware.  Is he out on loan, have I missed that news?  can any shed any light? If we need height againt some of these teams Brooker's got a bit more than some of our others.  I'd love to see him paired up front as a target man with Billy.

I think sometimes its a narrow 442 - more the Mourinho-Chelsea-Diamond type.

As for the more traditional 442, I'd say we certainly switched to that for the last 15 against Leeds - Copps/Stock/Gillet/Woods when Fairhurst came on and then Copps/Stock/Woods/Mason when Mason came on.

Agree with the overall point - Billy is a bit isolated and needs either Hayter or Copps up there. Whilst I rate him in isolation, the slight issue I have with playing Shiels is that sometimes him and Copps can pop up in the same places which can limit Copps.

Agreed, but back to my other point, where is Brooker and is he fit?

It was said he had a virus but he's disappeared again, he needs to start playing or we have to get rid, we've carried him too long now.

Why are we not being told anything though? He's not being reported as unfit or injured or out on loan.  we need an explanation.

For anyone listening to SOD's short interview on Radio Dee Dah yesterday he seemed to be saying that he would play Hayter up front alongside Billy tonight.
In SOD's usual camouflaged way he kind of hinted that it would make Billy happy if Hayter was there.
Not sure but do I detect Billy is unhappy with the formation we are playing at the moment?
