and we think we`ve got problems attracting fans through the turnstyle, that home crowd figure is shocking for a local Derby game!
-
They don't have a rivalry with us though. Didn't you know that?!
-
Riverside didn't look too busy either.

Percentage wise there attendance is better than ours,Scunthorpe only as a population of 60K compared to 250K in the Donny area.

But they've got bugger all competition around them. Grimsby are not going to pull Scunny fans away, Hull are a 'toll charge' away. We're closest 'big' team they have. We have traditionally had Sheffield(s), Leeds even Barnsley as all commutable and all traditionally higher than us. That said, the flat-lands of Lincolnshire are hardly likely to spew fans into Glanford Park.

I think its 151,00 in sKitsons are to 294,00 in Doncaster area. B)

Its likely to be above 300k now. I think the last census was about 9 years ago. The next one is 2011. Biggest town in the country, and Largest town/ city not to have had a top flight team.

Of course they do. i know a few scunny fans, and they hate Donny, but they say the younger fans seem to think it's 'cool' to hate Hull or Grimsby, so always seem to play down the rivalry with us. Trust me, there is a rivalry and it goes 2 ways.

Your initial post was about getting bodies through the turnstyles and not about the income generated.
So again,Percentage population wise, there attendances are better than ours no matter which way you try to twist it.
We could get a 15K full house every week if only charged £1 a ticket, but would that generate more than the 7005 that were at Scunthorpe on Saturday paying normal prices ? No.

Bodies through turnstyles = income, that was the point of my initial post, if we are struggling with the wage bill, how do Scunny survive?
That`s all of course if we charge a similar amount to get in

In fact, the URBAN area of Doncaster population is LESS Than Scunthorpe. NOT the MB of Doncaster of course. Scunthorpe Urban Area has population of 72.5K Urban Area of Doncaster 68.0K.

Roughly 8-10% of the population watch them, Rovers struggle to attract 3%.

That 68k figure doesn't even include places like Bentley and Armthorpe. How they aren't included in the Doncaster urban area Christ knows.

Dont know RD , but,I think i once read ( Somewhere ) if population of such exceeds 4000 but is less than 40000, then the \"Villages / Towns\" cannot be regarded as an \"Urban Connerbation\".
