Title: British Hostages released
Post by: GM-MarkB on November 14, 2010, 12:04:43 pm
Great to see that after a year in captivity, the British couple siezed by Somalian pirates have been released this morning.

Just in time for Chrimbo too. It'll be the  best prezzie their family ever get  :)

Given that we're in the Age of Austerity, one assumes that they will now get a bill from the Foreign Office for the time spent dealing with this.

Or, to put it another way, why should I as a tax payer fund the rescue if a couple if stupid upper middle class tits who thought it would be a jolly wheeze to spend their retirement sailing  their luxury yacht around the mist dangerous seas in the world?

Must say, I never get that one either. Like the people who go back packing through bandit country and are kidnapped. just because it's there doesn't make it a good place to visit.

I can understand the ones who go to dangerous places because they want to make a difference, like the aid worker who was killed in a rescue attempt the other week, but those like BST have mentioned who are just doing it for the experience I don't understand at all.

I first saw this on the news last night in the pub, with no sound on, and I honestly thought it was Barry McGuigan doing some charity work in Haiti or something
