I do like to put a selection of mixed nuts plus pistachio's, salted, dry roasted, cashews and have a pile in a bowl in the room.
I'll be getting my customary box of Allsorts (I insist on them being Bassetts mind)
I also like those sugared bitter Orange/Lemon slices. Proper bas**rd those and only me eats them.
I'd like to think a Terry's chocolate orange will be forthcoming and a maybe a cheeky bar of Galaxy (the mother of all chocolates)
Festive Figs, dates and prunes can fcuk right off as can those sugared almond b*llocks.
Festive time is approaching gang. I can see me and Mrs CR plus the 3 offspring CR's bursting into yule-time fa-la-la-laaaa's and other merry and joyous songs. I can see carol singers at the door with their nice lanterns and wrapped in winter woolies and the family CR letting out more fa-la-la-laaa's as we behold this yule-time season.
Kids will be staring at the tree with big beaming smiles and I'll be in my dressing gown and slippers roasting my chestnuts by an open fire...........yep, that's the joy of christmas folks

That's a lovely image but the reality is probably a ham shank and a can of lager.

I don't care what sweets I get as long as they are from Bonds of London, the most delicious confectionery around!
You can buy full Victorian style jars or case loads of other favourite bagshere. (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/bondsconfectionery/m.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A3133&rt=nc&_ipg=&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14.l1581&_pgn=1)

Never had a Galaxy bar, but will make a point to try one next time, as they sound like they're delicious! So far my faves are Cadbury's Fruit and Nut and plain old Milky Way bars.
But it's not Christmas until I make Christmas cookies -- Russian Tea Cakes, sugar cookies in tree and bell shapes with red and green sprinkles, and of course chocolate walnut fudge! Nothing with those rubbery red and green spicy things in them, like fruit cake though. But I haven't felt like making them yet this year, so probably next weekend will be cookie baking days as time is running out!
Also not Christmas without a new Tesco's insulated shopping bag with snowflakes and lady bugs on them! Are you serious, you may ask??? Absolutely!! Got about 10 of them one year for all my colleagues at work and they loved 'em!! This year they all got the elephant bags from Sainsbury's and they were over the moon. We love them because they're different, and because they're English, they're very cool!!! Funny story related to this, one time when I was telling some lads on the plane about these bags, they laughed but understood completely as their girlfriends wanted them to bring back some plain brown paper bags from the states like they had seen in films! lol
