Title: What an absolute pillock.
Post by: RedJ on February 24, 2011, 03:57:21 pm
How can someone with (the illusion of) so much power be so stupid? (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/856427-clegg-forgot-he-was-in-charge-while-cameron-was-away)

It`s something, in fact the only thing, he`s a natural at, being stupid!

In his defence though, I suppose it`s easy to forget being in charge, when really you`re not in charge, and in fact you`re only some one`s puppy dog!

Yeah Nick, take the rest of the week off, no one will miss you and with your wages you`ll be able to afford it, while the rest of the country struggles making ends meet due to your savage cutbacks!

No, but I am worried that the country is being run by 2 or 3 fruitcakes!

Also remember that the previous government didn't even have a deputy prime minister - what a daft none story.

Lord Mandelson was generally accepted as the DPM, though, so that point's a non starter.

That'd be a break with tradition if nowt else Red. Lord Mandelson was/is a Lord. he's a member of the House of Lords. Leaders of the country don't often come from there nowadays. I do recall Viscount Whitelaw acting as DPM in Maggies' time (and after he shot a bloke on a shooting range too - without prosecution of course) but it's an unsustainable position for anything other than a very short period of time indeed. He'd be unable to report to the House of Commons for a start - and that would rather make the country ungovernable in any constitutional sense.

Cheers

It was a joke for f**k sake, something that is sadly lost on labour politicians/voters.
Oh come on! hahaha. Thats it.

Quote
David Cameron and Nick Clegg are racing each other back to Britain after the shameful mishandling of the Libyan evacuation mission.

And the deputy prime minister, enjoying a skiing holiday in the exclusive Swiss resort of Davos, actually admitted he had ‘forgotten’ he was meant to be standing in for Mr Cameron while the PM was away. He was flying home last night.

But then, Bob, Harriet Harman was Brown's deputy Leader, so she'd be able to do that.

Of course. She isn't a member of the House of Lords - so no problem.
