Title: Forest vs Rovers
Post by: Snods Shinpad 2 on March 11, 2011, 11:47:45 pm
What happened to the other thread? Oh well.

If Gillett and Euell get a game, we could pinch some points.

Otherwise 3-1 Forest.

A draw is the best I can see, 1-1. Hope I'm wrong and we get a win though

As I said yesterday, this could be a good time to play Forest. 2-2 with Hayter and Mason (on as a sub) scoring.

No Oster again and Wilson Stock and Gillett is hardly an attacking line up in midfield
Title: Re: Forest vs Rovers
Post by: ljm-drfc on March 12, 2011, 02:56:35 pm
No Oster or Thomas
Title: Re: Forest vs Rovers
Post by: Barmby Rover on March 12, 2011, 02:59:33 pm
1-1 today. I know there is no Oster, but Gillet and Wilson give a nice back up for Stock, which will allow him to play more forward and support a very good front three(or two and one, whatever Sean thinks!).

Looking at the lineup it looks like we're going for a nil. To us that is.

Some talent on our bench though, for when we need them.

17 goals scored between the front three, they can never score of course.

Hopefully we can keep a clean sheet then maybe bring Mason on last ten minutes and try and nick it. Midfield looks defensive, Gilly, Stock and Wilson! Who's going to get the ball to Hayts?

What's happened to Ben Alnwick? Another loanee brought in, this one not even getting on the bench ahead of the youth team keeper?

Oh aye. Suppose Alnwick is the least likely to be needed out of them.

Still a clean sheet, keep it up lads!

Yeah but the player that Henderson has 'fouled' has been down since the incident and play has not resumed. He has a leg brace and neck brace on so far??!!!  Not looking good according to SS News.

Half time, Woods needed to do one decent save, we are not being overwhelmed by Forest. Get the midfield to play and defend a bit further up the field and then Copps can help hayeter out a bit more and we will be a more attacking force.

From the text commentary it sounds like Woods has been having a good match with a couple of very good saves!  Still wonder why [strike]Ald[/strike] the loanee goalie is not even on the bench though.

I can't understand why Alnwick isn't involved, 5 loan player rule or not. What is the point in bringing in a superior keeper to Woods and not playing him? Embarrassment for Alnwick really. He'd be better off at Spurs in a reserve game. If your not going to play him, bring in a makeshift keeper or stick with Bradshaw as they have been doing.

Isn't there usually a sub goalie available in case of injury, or do you mean that they can't have more than 5 loan players in the whole line up - including subs?

I can't understand how Mason is bringing more to the team at the minute than a reasonably experienced keeper such as Alnwick would. Our recent disastrous form could be linked to numerous things including injuries and having an inexperienced keeper between the sticks.

Just keep doing what they've been doing first half, then try and nick it at the end! Mason and Euell on for last ten?
