Interesting.

Cable's absolutely right of course. This is not something covered by the coalition agreement and Cameron is simply engaging in grubby rabble rousing.
Cameron wants to be seen to be tough on immigration and get the numbers down. As ever, this translates into hitting the easy targets.
I've seen first hand what this means in practice. Highly qualified, dynamic and hard working PhD level research scientists that we gave tried to recruit being told to f**k off because the quota of visas has been exceeded.
Dilemma for Clegg now. Every time Cable has tried to drag the Lib Dems away from the Tories, Clegg gas slapped him down. But Cable is bang on right this time, both on the practical substance of the argument, and on the coalition politics. If Clegg supports the Tories this time, he's dead meat.

To be fair, Clegg is on borrowed time anyway, I expect him to be a true blue this time next year

It's all staged isn't it? Cam says something Tory, Clegg keeps his posh gob shut, Cable speaks sense. Then they all go to the pub and laugh about it. Oh how we fooled them all again hehehe.
It's past a joke by now, but Ed has got to stop speaking like he's got a bit of a sniffle, it's just a cold, I can handle it, or he's a no-hoper.
I'm voting yes for AV, but I'm going to struggle to put a '1', never mind a '2'.

Anybody else see the clip of Cleggers telling Cameron that if they kept on the way they were going they'd have nothing to disagree on for the TV debates?
-

I really worry about this AV lark. I've been a presiding officer at Poll Stations many times, and there are a fair proportion who struggle with one vote. I suspect many will see it as the order you want them to come, rather than realising that putting a number against anyone other than the one you want to win is effectively a vote for them in later rounds.
-
I'm voting 'no' for the alternative vote and don't believe it's fair. My 2nd vote will be 'yes', which I hope will be utilised if my 3rd choice of 'don't care' is eliminated.
-
There's a button on my TV remote called \"AV\".
I don't know how it works and every time I use it, I'm never quite sure what the result is going to be.
-
I'm voting yes for a AV because I believe it would bring politics even more towards the centre ground. We would never have ended up with the extreme policies of Margret Thatcher with AV.
Unfortunately I don't think the yes vote stands a chance now, since the Lib Dems have made such a mess of everything. A No vote will be seen as punishing Nick Clegg, which most folk will be only too happy to do. It's a shame really.
-
I'm voting against AV to annoy Nick Smithers, and because the only reason that congenital idiot we have as Mayor got in was because his name began with a 'D'.
