Since I'm always wrong, I'll go for reverse psychology and say  Rovers 0 - 3 Bristol  City!  :silly:

3-1 City are in trouble, and our lads are in the mood to give somebody a real stuffing. Barnes and Bennet to score

If Maynard isn't playing that will be a massive boost for us.

In the away game last year they looked 2nd best to us for long periods, however their main threat came from their right. I think it was a couple of black lads there, was it Rice and the bigger threat of that wing back laddo on loan from West Ham. I think they've secured him again, I'm sure I read somewhere.

That said, massive boost if we can get off the mark today and I think if we repeat what we have done in our first 5 games bar 1, then we will be too good for them.

2-0..........Hayts (now on his usual run of goals every game) and Kyle

Wish I shared everyone's confidence on the prospects of a win.  Our lack of cutting edge and propensity to concede at almost every opposition chance have not yet been overcome.

How happy I will be if we do manage to take the points today.  Our lass will be in for the time of her life tonight if we do. :rtid:

Same as Tuesday, back 4 Sam covering and doing midfield, two wing backs and an attacking midfield. A close call already though.

Have we got the resolve and fight to come back from this in the second half?

A non-goal again, crept underneath Wood's hands.

Rovers have not got the \"cutting edge\" at the moment, we need a goal scorer. Maybe it is a bit early for Hayter, bring on Lalkovic after 60 minutes?

Why do we persist with this muppet? He is costing us goals on a weekly basis.

We dont make subs before the 75th minute.  Are we doing the right things? thats all that matters.

Good football but no cutting edge is a familiar theme for us!
Title: Re: Doncaster Rovers v Bristol City
Post by: I-was-there1976 on August 27, 2011, 03:01:34 pm
I dont trust BBC stats but they say 4 shots in 45 minutes

maybe 2 upfront for the 2nd half but that would leave the midfield one light and the tippy tappy controlled football would stop.

Post by: RTID75 on August 27, 2011, 03:02:12 pm
Not doing much wrong, but very, very lightweight up front again. Same old, same old. Hoping we can turn it around in second half.
Title: Re: Doncaster Rovers v Bristol City
Post by: Bristol Red Rover on August 27, 2011, 03:05:11 pm
Milan on for someone I hope if we're still not in front by 60 mins. Though guess at 85mins we'll get Wilson on for Gillet/Barnes/Oster, and JOC on for Naylor, and Milan for Hayter.

Jeez, something has got to go for us.

Half time talk:
\"You know everythings all right with a nice cup of tea, eh lads :) Don't spill it Gary! No \"slurrping\" Tommy, watch Muzzy - he learnt from last week. Kyle - come on, don't pour it on your lips, in the mouth, thats it my son.\"

Anyone any other ideas about what SOD will be drilling into them?

Lose today and it is a complete disaster.
2 very difficult away games coming up which we have a slim chance of getting anything from.
7 games without defeat would be our worst ever start to a season, and in my opinion impossible to come back from.

Me, I think Tommy Spurr is up there with the gods. Anybody on here know what banter he was having with the fans in the stoppage for Barnes? He really seems to be enjoying it here and a quality player for us.
